How likely are you to recommend Trillium Behavioral Health?
What patients say on Google
“Imagine getting a call from your brother…being detained illegally AND STARVED. No food, no meds just billing Medicaid. Local authorities couldn’t get in touch with employees. Be careful where you allow your loved ones to enter. The doors need to be SHUT, the Governor, Medicaid and everyone in between will be called. They deserve -100 stars.”
“I was just released from Trillium on Friday. They REALLY need help with the medication part. They kept forgetting to give me thyroid medicine and other patients stated the same One nurse will be really good and then 3 will be forgetful. Typically, inpatient facilities have you stand in line for meds and they go over them Here, you just hope a nurse will come find you with a cup of meds and they don't remember what they put in there. Every facility that I have been to (sadly, it has been a few-- mental health can be like that), a nurse wakes up ALL the thyroid patients to give them their Synthroid around 6:30 a.m. bc it has to be taken first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. Layla, a good sweet nurse, did that for me twice. ALL of the other nurses NEVER did and I was in no shape to recognize until I got home, looked at my labs and tanked into hypothyroidism. Dangit! I remember laying in my bed and my roommate there was disabled so she had a one on one tech. A nurse walked into the the room around 5 or 6 am and the tech said to the nurse, "You forgot to give her ANY meds last night." The male nurse said, "I did? Oh, yeah... I suppose I did!" I REALLY want to say his name, but I'm giving the TWO male nurses there a chance to straighten up. This system is WHACK. And the food is HORRIBLE. I literally eat EVERYTHING and lost 6 pounds while I was there. A lot of the patients eat it PLUS trays bc they are just hungry. OH! Don't get me started on how BADLY I feel for the people with allergies and diet restrictions! First, the dietician walks in my room and says, "So... you are allergic to fish and you have been diagnosed with GERD." Um... nope. I love fish 🐟 and no one has EVER told me I have GERD. My friend Kelly there was allergic to beef and was lactose intolerant. I KID YOU NOT... EVERY meal, they kept throwing beef and milk products at her! They were SO rude and short with her that I wanted to scream! Don't eat pork? Well, you're gonna get a ham sandwich 🥪 for "snack" at night! The dietician goes to my friend Kelly (above) and says, "Okay... so you are gluten free 🙄..." It's like they are running around without a good system and LITERALLY get rud and snappy when the patients ask for help. Kelly eventually cried after I saw her eat plain cheerios and soy milk for the THIRD time that week, saying she was blessed just to have something. The groups were pretty good though! I gotta say ... most of the patients just keep their mouths shut and their heads down to get out. It feels a lot like getting punished for being suicidal. I'm gonna say this REAL LOUD for the ones in the back (and it's not to ALL of you at Trillium ... the kind ones KNOW who they are...): IF YOU ARE NOT A PATIENT AND SWEET HUMAN BEING 99.9% OF THE TIME, DO NOT, NOOOOOOT WORK IN CARE!!!!! GO WORK AT A FACTORY OR SOMETHING! WE DON'T NEED YOU!”
“Most of the staff has trouble keeping the rules consistent, some times visitors signed in, sometimes not. The first time I had to lock up all metal objects and the next time I kept my belt. While visiting, I never saw any other patients, like they were locked away to prevent visitors from seeing them. My family member felt terrorized by the staff at night, they would play music loud at the desk and talk and laugh loudly. There is no water available to patients except in the restroom sink. There is no sink in the dining room. They stopped medications at admitting that should have been weaned down to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms. When my family member arrived they were physically normal and speaking normally. After one day off the meds she could barely walk or speak, had uncontrollable shaking and was terrified. I called recipient rights at the number provided by the facility and left a voicemail, my call was not returned. I called again and someone answered the phone and stated that I should hang up and call back to leave a message. They called back and I stated my concerns and the person, I think Bonita Jackson, said she would investigate and call me back, she never did. I called Macomb county community mental health and was told that the recipient rights person was someone else, and the number provided was incorrect. I called back and the call was forwarded to a different number which was never answered. She witnessed a staff member, the night shift nurse Lucida, spit in a patient face to intimidate that patient. She witnessed another patient injured by staff that had a bruised possibly broken arm afterword. She heard the patient in the next room screaming at night while a male staff member was frequently in the room that patient never spoke during the day and my family member suspects physical or sexual abuse. She has special dietary needs, she can’t eat most breads, rice and pasta due to esophageal problems, she got those items at every meal, the dietitian prescribed a Boost meal supplement and the staff would not provide it unless she ate all the food she was given, like a child. She lost 8 lbs in 8 days. They confiscated markers to prevent her from journaling or making a recipient rights complaint and reported that she was huffing the markers, which was ridiculous. Her blood pressure was dangerously high the entire time she was there and the medical staff did nothing to control it. The day shift nursing staff were great, Phil and Jules, but they could only do so much and only one worked at a time. I feel blessed that she survived this place and came home alive.”
“Do not send your loved one here. Also do not let any hospital involuntarily send your loved one here. If your loved one is being abused or mistreated do what I did go down to the County of which they live in and file an order to be their guardian temporarily. They must by law let you serve the patient with these papers and the minute I did my relative was "ready to be discharged" even though they tried to talk me out of serving those papers. They mistreat patients and St. John/Henry Ford Hospital on Moross involuntarily transferred my brother there and did not tell anyone even though we were there all day. I accidentally found out and tried to stop the transfer and the psychiatrists at St. John/Henry Ford are full of it, very disrespectful. Must be getting kickbacks. In Macomb County to petition to become temporary guardian for medical it is the Macomb County Probate Court which is located on the 5th floor of 40 North Main Street in Mt. Clemens MI.”
