How likely are you to recommend New Horizons Behavioral Health?
What patients say on Google
“Lakaren Rickman IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!! My experience with this therapist was deeply disappointing because she violated my confidentiality. When I raised concerns about confidentiality her answer was to discredit me. Based on my experience, I CANNOT recommend her or any facility that uses her services.”
“You can't schedule an appointment because no one answers the phone. You leave a message with a call back number multiple times and no one calls back. You call the compliance number and no one answers nor can you leave a message like it advises you to do. What kind of good management runs an organization like this???”
“I had my follow up appointment with Mrs.Edith Loraine Pitts yesterday at 9 am, January 21st. She was very nice and polite, but invalidated my mental and physical health. When informing her what I’ve been professionally diagnosed with, labels I do not wish to have, she made a sly remark about how I may be a hypochondriac - although, again, I’ve been diagnosed these disorders and health condition through out my life. She said the inappropriate comment after I had said I have an auditory processing disorder which has nothing to do with mental, it’s about the ears… and I’ve been medically diagnosed as a kid. Later I mentioned my medical condition, optic nerve papilledema, and she gave me a look… not even bothering to ask what it is, just shaking her head. It’s not a mental Disorder, but it is important to note due to the risk of me going blind if I gain weight and some medication’s can cause weight gain. I had almost lost my vision once from weighing 260 pounds and now that I’ve lost the weight, I would like to keep my optic nerves from being swollen again. To assume it has something to do with my mental and shaking her head, was inappropriate and not professional. This is my third time here, I have not had rude remarks made until yesterday. I am coming here to aid my mental health, not to be judged and invalidated over it. This is a mental health facility, I should feel safe to open up and get the help I need. I was nice and respectful the entire appointment, but I am leaving this review to let it be known I do not appreciate how I was lightly neglected. Again, she was nice, but the comment is invalidating/ minimizing which is neglectful. I do not wish to be diagnosed with what I have, and saying what she said did not make me feel any better. Along with questioning my physical health conditions as if they were mental disorders makes me question her knowledge on mental health.”
“Potential to ruin your credit if you a patient don't do their job. New Horizons Behavior Health of Columbus GA sends labs to clinics without patients' insurance information included and in return patients are sent bills directly from a random company. I have called and even went to their clinic to resolve my bill in any attempt to get their billing department to send my information to correct the error. The clinic staff said they don't deal with the 3rd billing facility other than sending in the labs. I was informed that this is a problem patients have to fix themselves. I am still waiting for someone to call me since 2 Apr and 10 Apr 2026. My question is, if the facility has been informed that they are causing problems and concerns and why should patients be getting random bills from 3d party facilities that they have never been to, prior to their insurance being billed. Why are they not correcting this internally and assisting patients with proper corrective actions. Especially, since there's entirely too many scams occurring now.”
