“We visited Pelham Wellness Center in Pelham to obtain a copy of a psychiatric assessment for my daughter as part of her placement into substance abuse treatment. The psychiatrist who conducted the assessment was very kind and professional during the appointment. However, we were not given clear information about the process for obtaining the assessment afterward, which led to confusion. I later learned from the Calera location that a formal release form and approval process is required before records can be provided. The main issue came at the front desk when we returned to request the document. We were met with rudeness, poor communication, and no clear guidance on the process. Instead of being helped through the steps, we were made to feel like an inconvenience, and the interaction was dismissive and unprofessional during an already stressful situation. In contrast, when I called the Calera location for clarification, Kelly and Amy were polite, helpful, and clearly explained the correct procedure, and also Amy reassured me she would expedite my request and contact me directly when things were approved. Overall, while the clinical provider we saw was kind, the front desk experience and lack of clear communication at this location created unnecessary frustration and difficulty during a critical time for our family.”
“I really don't like this place. Firstly, my son sees a therapist and a psychiatrist. I really don't like therapist. She is not helping my child. He's getting worse and they are just asking him questions that are irrelevant to what's going on with him . Then , they won't let you come back , which gives the opportunity for the child to lie or pretend they don't need help . The worse place to go.”
“I found this system full of problems. OVER medication to a zombie like reaction. Councilors, in my opinion, seemed inexperienced and out of their depth. Our family experienced far more harm than good. We began to thrive when we left and went to Christ Health....”
“my stepson was seeing both a therapist and psychiatrist he was supposed to be in pediatric therapy. but his therapist decided without talking to anyone to move him to family therapy which made it where he was never allowed to go back alone. he was being abused by his mothers family and was never allowed to tell the therapist it was happening because she always told him his mom had to be back with him. the person was supposed to help and instead she hurt and betrayed his trust”
