“Yesterday, I had my initial consultation with Dr. Bierrenbach. I was somewhat nervous and anxious leading up to my appointment. The staff was incredibly friendly and outgoing. Dr. Bierrenbach came out to waiting room to greet me. He has a very reassuring smile and demeanor. My consultation was every minute of an hour and a half long. He took the time to explain certain terms as well as how the human brain processes information. His delivery was not at all condescending. In fact, it was just the opposite. He gave me a lot of useful information that offered much to think about today. I awoke this morning with a shred of hope that I might find a little peace and happiness one day and I attribute y that to Dr. Bierrenbach. I feel fortunate to have found him and it is my pleasure to write this review for him.”

“I've seen many, many doctors in mental health over the years. Dr. Birrenbach is, by far, the most intelligent, professional and intuitive of them all, as of today. I was blown away, just sitting before him and watching him peel me like an onion. He has an uncanny ability to take extremely tiny bits of information about symptons and life experiences and formulate them into diagnoses and treatment plans in an hours time. Not easy. Dr. Birrenbach read my mind like a brain scanner and was even able to hypothesize (correctly) about my past and current, day-to-day life, down to a T. He did this with only a small amount of information I gave him. If his current theory about my diagnosis is correct, then I've been misdiagnosed for decades. He is going to figure out what is going on with you.. he is not going to blindly write you an SSRI script and send you packing, as has been my experience far too many times with other practices in the area. He has truly mastered the practice of Psychiatry to the point of making it an art form. His methodology and process, from smart to finish, was so well orchestrated that I didn't even notice an entire hour had gone by by the time I left. I am blessed to have met this man. As for the practice as a whole, you will not find a more refined practice in Asheville. The women in the office were also incredibly top-notch. I've never experienced a more attentive and kind front office.Their communication, before, during and after the visit, was truly mind-blowing. The check-in and waiting process was completely seamless and the waiting room was very relaxing. I loved the music and the TV art. I never write reviews for anything, but as a native Ashevillian, I want people in my city to know where they can to get the real deal. His style and process is based off his knowledge and expertise in Western science, so be prepared to follow his lead. From my experience, this is the best traditional, medicine/evidenced based psychiatric care in the city. Thanks Dr. Birrenbach and team! Charles”

“Dr Bierrenbach looks at your situation with fresh eyes and addresses both your mental and physical health. He is very knowledgeable about pharmaceuticals and I feel like I can trust him with respect to recommendations in that area. In addition, he is personable and cheerful— nice-to-haves that some psychiatrists do not bring to the table. At my first visit we discussed my history and symptoms. I also learned a lot about my health, medications and why I could be still struggling to see progress. I left the appointment feeling like I had a plan of action versus emotionally drained by talking too much about my problems.”
