“My sister had a very serious mental health emergency in his office yesterday. Instead of Dr Hoffman having her committed for a psychiatric evaluation after seing the state she was in he called my mother to have someone come pick up my niece who was with my sister at the time. My sister ended up having the cops called on her and was trespassed from his office. If you are having a serious mental health issue this man will not help you. I highly recommend finding a different doctor.”

“I have lived all over and seen many doctors and Dr. Hoffman is the most genuine least condescending doctor I've encountered. He is open minded (especially for a doctor) and meticulous, I have driven over an hour to see him for many years because he is far more knowledgeable than the doctors I encountered in Charlottesville. The reviews about the staff are overblown to say the very least as I regularly miss cancel and reschedule appointments (I am an organizational disaster zone) and have for over 6 years now. They may not be be super fake nice and chatty but they always return your calls and are kind and patient. The low cost is worth not having ten employees to answer the phones. I am very grateful to have found Dr. Hoffman and hope reviews left by people complaining about perceived office issues do not discourage someone who needs help from finding such a high quality provider. The office staff is completely competent, they just call you back instead of placing you on hold... there are obviously people who need to have the instant gratification of speaking immediately to a live person and leave bad reviews when that doesn't happen. Frankly I think his staff is pretty darn expert at navigating a whole lot of 'crazy' at this busy and well run practice. Not one single time have I been treated rudely by his staff. They call me a day ahead to remind me of appointments and are non judgmental when I still miss them... (yes even the second rescheduled ones).”

He is very understanding and has prescribed me a few meds that other doctors have not tried and they are working very well!!
