What patients say on Google

“The first review was based off my feelings and opinions. I didn't feel as though that I needed less time on my phone. Maybe during therapy sessions they could have kept our phone. Or probably give us a few different phone times. In the end I realized they wanted us to just focus on our own health. As for the food it was very delicious! I just wanted more options. One of the head staff tried her best to get a list of the goods we liked, disliked, and we had allergies. They did their best to provide snacks and treats as well as our favorite drinks! The staff was very understanding and helpful! They addressed our concerns with care and understanding! When I got irritated a staff member would reach out to me. If I wanted to calm down first they gave me my space and told me when I was ready they would listen. It was nice knowing I had them their when I needed to vent about my issues! They helped me out! I wish I could have put this on my first review, however I ran out of space. I always like to end on a good note! Just remember the staff are professionals and they have a lot of experience. This facility is still very new and their trying to learn as their clients are trying to learn the ends and outs as well! Thanks so much for providing a safe, understanding, and very caring facility! 👍👍”

“PARENTS BEWARE!!!! Do not trust these people with your children they will cause your children more trauma. Evan had my child so terrified he was able to get in a room in the building and lock himself in why those idiots just stood there while I’m trying to get my son to come out. The head supervisor Josh Smith and CEO Mike Cantrell do not care what happen to my child. My child is traumatized and will never feel comfortable talking to a Counselor or therapist again.. Parents protect your babies”

“Very rude. If you have a younger child they do look down on you. Your not allowed to even bring a newborn with you even know your nursing the baby. Try to get an appointment their and they do change the times on you but it's your fault”

“This was the first place that actually cared and has worked to attempt to make a real positive difference for me as an adult. However, find another place to take your kids, I thought they would be good to and for mine and that was a big mistake. Telli Sheppard literally kidnapped my son for an hour and did not tell me where he was during a crisis, had taken him to Stephen Paquet at the juvenile office, where they discussed in front of my son that "I didn't want him". Telli apologized for not telling me where my child was the entire time or letting me know, and Stephen denied it happened at all which was not surprising because he lied multiple times and treated me horribly no matter how kind and relatable I attempted to be when expressing my concerns for my son. He never listened or took me seriously. In fact instead of worrying about my son he took it upon himself to call me names and express his disdain towards me (after a year of me knowing it already), because I called him out for lying during a meeting for my son when I told the group working with my son that I had expressed concerns about a certain topic to both Telli and Steve in the same room and Steve denied i ever brought it up. The next conversation we had he called me names and worse while I was calmly trying to find out what the plan for my child was. Bottom line is, If they do not like the way you look because you're not a soccer mom, they will work against you even at the peril of your child, which is gross WHILE smiling and pretend to care about you, especially Telli Sheppard- who I broke off from my family after the above mentioned situation and when she told me that I needed to watch my son beat on himself and hit his head into walls and show no emotion because he was "stimming", instead of teaching him healthier ways to go about coping like I had asked her. Also, she literally told me that when my autistic child ran away I should "let him because he will come back when he's hungry, cold, or tired"... Which I knew coming from a professional, something was wrong. You don't allow a disabled child to run and be gone for hours. Which was advice she gave to me because she had a friend nearby that she told my son to go to behind my back. She also had my 13 year old working for this man Bob Yapp. I would not have been okay with my 13 year old son staying the night with a grown man who cursed me out and flipped out on me when I simply asked him why he had been giving my son money... Yet no one at Mark Twain felt anything that Telli did was wrong. This was and has been the only times I have ever been disgusted by Mark Twain Behavioral Health, and before this, my review was a gleaming 5 star review about how they were the first mental health facility to do good in my life... it's pretty sad now. Mark Twain is great with adults, but take it from someone who has loved their services for almost 10 years- do not rely on them to help with your kids.”
