“I feel our community needs are undeserved in the realm of mental health, which is why I MUST share about Dr. Flo. He is a talented psychiatrist relatively new to town. My young adult daughter suffers from complex mental health issues. She had tried other providers within the greater community and wasn't quite getting what she needed regarding her mental health needs. Dr. Flo, single-handledly changed that. He is up to date in a greater scientific manner than our physicians who are further away from their training. He works seamlessly with our other incredible psychiatrist, Dr. Tochtrop too. However, most importantly, he turned an over five year dangerous and deeply difficult endeavor to improve my daughter into a massive win! He is unafraid to do what some might find intimidating; he actually removed medications from my daughter's regimen! (When do you hear of that?!) He monitors her closely by having a visit every 4 weeks. Uniquely, he also holds her accountable for her own health by including her. She must take the initiative between visits to call his nurse, or write him via EPIC online. This includes her in the process of wellness far more than she had been previously. Accountability on her part has created an additional benefit for her - responsibility! I am amazed and graced with sharing that after less than 6 months of work, my daughter has re-entered John Wood and re-emerged socially and emotionally after 5 years! I know it is dedicated science and work on the part of Dr. Flo and my daughter yet, I had resigned myself to a disabled life for her, as much as it broke me. If you need help with depression and anxiety, go see him! If you have more complex issues - GO SEE HIM! He has not only kept her out of the hospital but, improved her quality of life vastly. It IS worth it!”
