“I felt as though I nearly died here, and I’m being genuine. A little over a year has passed, and I’m finally able to say something. I had many, many, many bad experiences during my stay here. I was stuck in a single room with multiple men- mixed gender area, I guess. Only one other woman, and the environment was deeply stressful. There was no dayroom, just A room, a small and cramped one, with bright floodlights on 24/7 and a TV also always on. Some guy asked me to be his girlfriend, and I’m a lesbian, and there was no room to escape and the staff couldn’t care less so I was stuck saying yes until I could leave. As someone who’s been diagnosed with ASD, the nonstop noise and floodlights caused and meltdown which induced head-banging, and one of the male patients commented that I should just kill myself already. Staff did nothing, as expected, but what really bad was that I got extremely sick while I was there. Both the flu and an upper respiratory infection so bad that I was in and out of consciousness most of my stay. Staff frequently ran my vitals, but despite my heart rate and blood pressure consistently being really high (I have POTS), my temperature reaching 106°, my lack of eating and drinking, my wheezy breathing (I have sleep apnea, moderate), and me having just had an energy heart related incident a few months prior, they never did anything for me or took me to a hospital. I’m lucky I recovered, though I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish I’d passed if it meant this horrible place could be torn down. Expect something similar if you are to be brought here.”

“How is it my fault that a therapist hasn't been their so I got to walk in to see one but I still may not be able to be seen the day I do? I can't help the receptionist rescheduled me as I rescheduled when the therapist just wasn't their. And the lady that called me acted like I was making a fuss but I was just asking questions. She acted like I wasn't aloud to.”

Absolutely IMPRESSED with this program! Florida has mental health facilities, BUT nothing can compare with Georgia! It is time to educate and inform people about mental illness because it is real! They have the most knowledgeable, caring, and professional staff! Each care provider we encountered from the Security, Receptionist, Nurses, RN, Therapist, Case Manager, Team Leader, and Physicians; they offered such a special care with LOVE and kindness…. especially when you are so broken! Forever grateful! 💕💯I highly recommend Legacy to anyone who is looking for Mental care.”
