“I would not recommend LaToya Walker to anyone in need of psychiatric care. At the urging of my PCP and therapist, they encouraged me to get a different psychiatrist to aid in my health journey. I had discussed tapering down on a medication. Latoya treated me horribly. First, like a drug seeker. Secondly, she was terse and not compassionate - even though she markets herself as such. She called me unhealthy. She has no clue the journey I’ve been on or how much I’ve accomplished. She did not listen. She asked if I had any trauma. When I said “sure, I have trauma,” she replied “so like a rape or what?” It was incredibly disheartening to hear a mental health provider talk about severe trauma and such a nonchalant way. Also, she spoke to me in such a way that I would never open up to anybody who speaks like that. I doubt many clients would. She asked about medical history by simply asking, “medical history?” When I asked her to elaborate she said she just needed to know what to write down. I didn’t feel any compassion. I didn’t feel any professionalism. It left me feeling defeated and alone on this journey. I’m actively trying to make my life better and healthier all the time. I was received with attitude, ego, judgement, criticism, oh and a huge bill since she didn’t bother to bill my insurance. I had to argue with LifeStance for days to adjust it. This was overall a super poor experience and I will not be back. How crappy to really put the time and energy into becoming a healthier individual and reaching out for help, asking for help, hoping someone will join your fabulous team of providers who suggested this… and being met with whatever abhorrent behavior that was. So disappointing.”
