How likely are you to recommend Khalil Center?
What patients say on Google
“The Khalil Center is truly a unique and much-needed space for mental health support within the Muslim community. Their skills in integrating Islamic values and cultural understanding into therapy feel authentic and deeply respectful, not just a box to check. One of the most impactful parts of my experience with this organization has been working with Dr. Ata. There is a genuine compassion in his work that you can feel right away. He listens with intention, creates a safe and nonjudgmental space, and approaches every conversation with both clinical insight and heartfelt care. It’s rare to come across someone who balances professionalism with such sincerity nowadays. I would highly recommend the Khalil Center to anyone looking for culturally sensitive and faith-integrated mental health support. It’s truly making a difference; we need more Khalil Centers around the world.”
“I honestly don’t even know where to start. Khalil Center has been a complete mess for years. For almost three years, I have tried to schedule an appointment and never succeeded. The process is exhausting and ridiculous. You fill out an application, submit it, then they email you asking the same questions again. Why do you need therapy? Who do you want to see? We answer. Then another email. And another one. Same questions, over and over, including very personal details we already provided. After all that, they suddenly claim, falsely, that they were trying to reach us and couldn’t, so they remove us from scheduling. This has happened more than once, and it was happening even before COVID. It feels dishonest and careless. We are only trying to be seen at this location because of Dr. Muhammad Atta. He works at Rush and another location that does NOT accept our insurance, so this is the only place we can see him. Yet the administration makes it almost impossible. Our previous experience with this center with our older son was even worse. Therapists would cancel appointments or not show up, and insurance was still charged even though therapy never happened. That is unacceptable. There is no supervisor, no manager, no clear person in charge to talk to when things go wrong. No real customer service. The front desk staff are rude, unprofessional, and seem completely confused about what they are doing. This center claims to support the community, but based on our experience, and what many others say as well, they do not provide real support or real service. The whole system is broken. What a shame! Truly!”
“My initial setup was quick and easy, but my therapist, whom I only met twice, failed to follow up as promised. She was out of the country without informing me, leaving me without support. Despite reaching out to the practice for a new therapist, I received no response while payment was still taken. I had to find help elsewhere, enduring over two months without therapy. I cannot recommend this center for those serious about receiving reliable support.”
“I like the walk up to the doors, a friendly greeter as you walk in. Nice large fish tank. Really sets the mood. The design is excellent. Great color theme on the wall. Comfortable chairs/sofas. Non-judgemental, makes you really feel like you can talk about anything. It’s great. Highly recommend. 5 Stars.”
