“Dr. Ashley Houchin was amazing and extremely helpful to work with. Unfortunately when she transferred my case to Emilie Vestuto, Emilie made me feel so uncomfortable to the point where I had to leave the practice. I was struggling with crippling health issues both physical health and ADHD and was at a point where I was struggling to take care of myself and was focused on surviving. I ran a bit late to one of our first few zoom calls due to a case worker meeting running over. I explained that to Emilie to which she replied, "If you don't respect my time, I'm going to have an extremely hard time staying professional with you" and "This can't become a habit because otherwise I won't be able to be an impartial therapist." Which was implying she didn't want to even try hearing anything from me, and that if I said or did anything wrong she would resent me and cut me off from my treatment. She continued to act passive aggressively and dismissive in our sessions and would talk in depth about her problems getting her license through the state and her issues with the bureaucracy of that. Which is frustrating but again this was my therapy... I understand that being late can be seen as disrespectful especially if it happens all the time but that was only my first or second session with her ever. Also it's extremely common for people with ADHD to struggle with time blindness and punctuality. Plus I'm paying for your time regardless of if I cancel late or I pay through insurance... it's made me so anxious to seek help I haven't been able to see another provider since this encounter.”
