What patients say on Google
“To be honest I don't understand the purpose of physchiatrists. I have had several and I do not feel like they listen or understand. I took 1 computer test here and now ADHD was completely ruled out. However I LOVE puzzles so of course I was going to do great. I knew the purpose of each test and enjoyed it so of course I was able to focus. I love my PCM and therapist who actually know me and both agree that I don't have depression and am being treated for the wrong thing. I am constantly forgetting and losing things. I constantly move. Struggle to sleep. I have textbook symptoms for adhd and it runs in my family. So frustrating to not feel heard. I had a long list in my notepad on my phone of things I find peculiar or worthy of noting. I didnt bring it up at either appointment because I could tell it didn't really matter. I have "childhood trauma" so the only possibility of struggles is depression.”
“I have been seeing Dr. Perez for two months now, and he has taken a vacation each month. I have been receiving treatment twice a week, but have to pause when he goes on vacation. The nurses assure me that going without my treatment is fine and no bad will come of missing so many treatments, but I have my doubts. On top of that, they booked over my appointment time so even when he came back, it would still be an additional 2 weeks to get back on my schedule, so a total of 2 weeks no treatment and an additional 2 weeks of only once a week before I can return to my normal schedule. This is outrageous for a mental health clinic. I will be switching providers ASAP.”
“This is not about the Physicians behavior but the lack of compassion by the staff for the people in the community. Yesterday my mother (65), who has a disability (multiplesclerosis), was waiting for my elderly grandmother (87) at an attorney’s office next door. The attorney’s policy required she/ family stay outside while drafting my Grandmother's will. After waiting for over two and a half hours, my mother urgently needed to use a restroom, but didn’t want to leave my grandmother feeling stranded if she came out. She explained all of this to the medical office next door, acknowledging she wasn’t a patient, but hoping for understanding. Unfortunately, she was told, ‘You’re not a patient, so no. Given this is a medical office, we hoped they would care about others’ well-being. An older woman with a disability, explaining the urgency and seeking understanding is not a threat to their business. A bit of empathy would have gone a long way.”
“Christina was a great doctor. I felt heard and she would find different alternatives to help with my many health issues. The problem is their rule about paying $75. If you miss a virtual appointment. They do not call to remind you when is time for the call. They send an email the day before. Why not call to see why I am not logged in? I was on my phone texting while waiting to login but with my brain fog ( probably ADHD too) that was enough of a distraction to forget about the call. A call to check why was I not on the call would have worked. I called to make a new appointment, NO ONE ASKED IF I WAS MENTALLY DOING WELL THAT DAY. The receptionist JUST SAID I HAD TO PAY $$75. BEFORE A NEW APPOINTMENT CAN BE SCHEDULED (For the missed appointment FEE). That told me how much the Medical staff care about the patients. Is about making a little extra money, not about the well being of the patients. That was all I needed to know. I will miss Christina dearly but I need to be where I am cared for not where they need additional money for missing an appointment. Is not about the money, I can pay $75. But when they do not even ask how I was doing, just want to collect money, it tells me to go somewhere where they are smart enough to deduct those missed appointment loses on their taxes, where they will not add more mental stress to my already overwhelmed mental health. THEY BROUGHT ME MENTAL ANXIETIES TRYING TO REMEMBER THE APPOINTMENT, then I still missed it and that caused me more mental anxiety. Not the right fit for me.”
