What patients say on Google

“I have to say I'm incredibly disappointed with my entire experience with Caleo. I saw all these negative reviews beforehand, but I was/am at such a desperate state that I was willing to give it a shot. I've been trying to do therapy with Monica for about a year now. I've missed a couple appointments because I have ongoing health/transportation problems but anytime I miss an appointment, it will take anywhere from a 2 wks to a month for Monica to return a message to reschedule and that's only when I have called over and over. I was already pretty reluctant to voice my past with another human being because I have major trust issues and it's almost like she has verified all the apprehensions that I had with therapy. Numerous times she's forgot major issues that I needed her to speak to a supervisor about or a form needed and it's just very obvious to me as a patient that I'm not anywhere near a priority to her. I've waited for her to return calls for weeks and then I get told I'm not showing a commitment to therapy when it's absolutely her that's not committed. This has happened over and over so it's become a pattern at this point. Also this has been a reason that I've been told they won't manage my medications. I'm still only prescribed an antidepressant from my primary after being in therapy for over a year with Caleo and still have not seen the prescribing nurse for medications. I'd like to say that I was expecting better but it's the same story everywhere with mental health - NO ONE CARES, NO ONE TRIES TO HELP ME. It's just the same Medicaid doctors/nurses attitude they only care about keeping people going in/out the door as fast as possible but they won't do anything to help you. This place has a complete lack of management or anyone in charge making sure the therapists are acting professionally. It's obvious when you walk in to reception, you can see it's ghetto as can be. It's the usual NY subsidized medical care that's owned by a huge corporation and they keep Medicaid patients flying through the door because mental health is at such a ridiculous plague on this country. But I actually need the help and was trying to get a therapist to help me. All I got was my time wasted, my trust slapped in my face, and a therapist that clearly didn't care to see or help me. I only wish she had the courage to tell me this rather than keep me hanging and gaslighting me by saying I'm the one not committed to therapy. DO BETTER BY YOUR PATIENTS. SOME OF OUR LIVES ARE ON THE LINE. When you treat people this way, you just verify to me that absolutely no one cares and you make me feel completely isolated.”

“If i could give this place 0 stars I would, hands down. I was a patient for 2 years when I was hospitalized following a serious attempt on my own life. I went to Caleo after my hospitalization to fill out temporary disability with my job. You know what a doctor who I've never even met put as the primary reason for my temp disability??? Cannabis use disorder. This was before it was legal, so I couldn't hand the paper to my bosses. I cried and begged them to change the reason because it had nothing to do with my hospitalization. I was told that I had been asked to stop by them, even though they didn't prescribe any of my meds and my med provider encouraged my cannabis use for chronic medical problems, I just couldn't justify the $300 a year medical card at the time. I lost my job of 7 years and made a second attempt on my life as a direct result of their utter malpractice, and then lost my apartment when I got home. So if you go here just know: you can't be honest with them about recreational drugs or even alcohol, as they will literally ruin your life and make it the primary treatment focus no matter what else you have going on. My arm was stapled shut but clearly weed was the biggest problem I had going on /sarcasm. This place has a definite agenda that it forces on its patients and it's gross the levels they will sink to to push it.”

“If I could give 0 stars I would. My therapist spelled my name wrong on documents, did not listen to me when I told her what I wanted to focus on in my treatment, and even made an unprofessional dig at me regarding abandonment during an appointment when I told her I did not feel listened to. She did not contact me again after that appointment, even though I called a week later and asked the front desk if she had dropped me as a patient and they told me she had not dropped me. This was months ago and I still have not heard anything from her or Caleo. My new therapist says Ana’s actions were extremely unprofessional especially towards someone with my diagnoses. She spent a lot of time during appointments boasting about how many people she had helped and would get defensive when I asked that we focus on my treatment during my time. She also tried to urge me to stay in the living facility across the street from where I was living at the time which I found strange. I cannot speak for other therapists here but I do not recommend Ana.”

“Love our therapist, the other staff however, not at all! These people don’t like their jobs and they show it. I am a medical professional, so when I see things they do, it is sickening. We wait every week for someone to unlock the door, even though the sign says 7:55-5:00, not once has the door been open on time. I suggest you have some continuing education for the staff, inform them of the need to be to work on time or early to let patients in, we shouldn’t be standing at the door waiting to get in! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL FRONT DESK STAFF!!”
