What patients say on Google
“If I knew what this place was all about I would of NEVER placed a LO here. The shower water isn't even luke warm and they expect people to bath themselves in it. Never got a call that my LO was running a fever. You ask questions and the nurses get snippy with you. Dr put LO on a new medication and when you call them out on it with the name brand they tell you NO that isn't it. If you want your LO taken care of the proper way DON'T place them here. Oh, by the way make sure you get your LO clothes back that they had there, because we were missing things and had things returned to us that weren't ours. This place should be shut down.”
“Caring compassionate professional and one of the best experiences I have had compared to other so called high end private hospitals. From the staff to the Drs were kind patient and helpful Thank you for your care and support .”
“PSA to anyone who is looking to attend the Berwick Behavioral Health clinic for themselves/loved ones. I am not usually one to comment on things like this but the built up feelings I have, have been driving me crazy. We recently had my grandfather attend this clinic, which was a horrible idea. We were reassured he would be well taken care of, and we could call him anytime of the day and visit him within the visitation hours. After 2 days of visiting him, he informed us of the schedule they follow daily. First a psychiatrist meets with each patient for no longer than 5 minutes a day. Then they do activities throughout the day such as bowling and bingo. The following day we visited, and I asked ‘’so what fun activity did you guys do today” he replied with “we didn’t do anything, the lady said she was busy.” Mind you, every time after you walk through the first completely empty part of the building, you come to a set of doors that then lead up to what was called “the nurses station.” In my opinion it should have been the communication station, because every time I walked through that door, there were 5-6 nurses just standing around on their phones. How does not one single nurse have time to do an activity for their 10 patients! On the day 5 mark, we asked my grandfather if he had gotten a shower, which we were told they would bathe the patients every other day. He was in the hospital 2 days prior to being in this facility, so now, a full week without a shower. The next day, we were informed that they gave him a “wash-cloth bath.” Not even a full shower. Now, he had been in there for 1 week. When asked what medication they planned on switching, we received 3 different answers from 3 different nurses. We were then informed by the psychiatrist that nobody reviewed his medication when entering the facility, so they were giving him the wrong medication. At this point we were obviously beyond frustrated, so we contacted the physiatrist and no answer… for 2 days. The following day we visited and were greeted by a nurse stating that “we put your grandfather on the medication that you believe is the miracle drug and will cure him completely.” At this point we were lost, we knew this place was not the place for him, (and in my opinion for anyone) but we knew he still needed medical attention 24/7. Before admitting him to this center, we were told we could call at any given time. As I called my grandfather, I could hear a nurse yell at him saying “now this is the last phone call, because other people want to use the phone.” Understandable that other people would like to use the phone, but I was only his second call of the day. Lastly, the main reason I hope you choose to never send your loved ones to this facility. My grandfather had an accident throughout the night, also understandable. He was beyond embarrassed. The beds they are given have a plastic cloth over the mattress, therefore it would have been an easy fix. Rather than taking care of him, they yelled at him. They then proceeded to yell “you stink, go wash yourself.” Now why would they stop there? They then proceeded to announce to the entire facility that breakfast was going to be late because of my grandfather. This place is beyond help, and I feel nobody there is qualified or even has an ounce of sympathy for those who walk through the door. We asked for a simple update on how he was doing, and they replied with “we don’t have time for that.” These people should be beyond ashamed, and I feel for anyone who is still in there, because they truly lack compassion.”
“Don't send anyone you love here!”
