“We had a very disappointing experience with this provider, from the initial phone call to the actual consultation. The person answering the phone was extremely unprofessional—taking calls while driving or distracted with children in the background, laughing, and clearly not taking the call seriously. I sent a CANS assessment prior to our appointment so it could be reviewed with the doctor, but it was never received. After following up twice, the front desk staff finally admitted they found it in their spam folder. We specifically chose this provider because we were told translation services would be available. However, the translation was done by the same front desk person, not a professional interpreter. We also drove a long distance for this appointment expecting a meaningful evaluation. Unfortunately, the doctor never engaged with our child at all. All questions were directed at the caregiver/foster parent, despite the child being the patient and requiring translation support. This could have easily been done over the phone or virtually. To make matters worse, the final report stated that the child was given direct instruction and asked questions—which is simply not true. At no point did the doctor interact directly with the child during the evaluation. We sent another evaluation requested by Dr. Shalomov so he could move forward with a prescription and followed up two days after with a phone call. The front desk told us she had forwarded the evaluation to the doctor the night before our phone call, but wasn’t sure when the doctor would get back to her. This lack of attention and urgency is not only unprofessional—it’s making things harder for us and delaying care for a child who needs help. We do not recommend this provider and will not be returning for future care for our foster children.”
“My son had an in person appointment scheduled last Friday afternoon with Dr. Andrey Shalomov. We arrived at 238pm for a 245pm appointment. Nobody was there, so I called the number provided and the receptionist (who was based out of Austin) had to reach out to the provider and she called me back and stated that the provider was a couple of minutes away. So my son and I waited, at 3pm I called again and she again had to call me back after calling the provider and stated again that he was a couple of minutes away. I told her that we were leaving and that it was very unprofessional that we were still waiting 15 minutes after my sons appointment time. I work in healthcare and knew if we were late then we would be marked as a no show and possibly have to pay a fee. After I left the provider Dr. Andrey Shalomov called me and sounded shock that I was upset and i also explained to him that it was very unprofessional for a provider to be 20 minutes late (at this point) for a patients appointment. He tried stating that he was unaware that he had an in person appointment scheduled for that day and time. We had this appointment scheduled for a couple of weeks. I would not recommend this provider at all.”
“Dr Shalomov & his point of contact Janie at the Center for Child & Family psychiatry are passionate about helping people and specially talented at providing the missing pieces to your puzzle. Not only are they empathetic but they are astoundingly effective & responsive. Janie also knows what she is doing in terms of servicing patients that need administrative help. She is very knowledgeable and cares about advocating for her patients. I really have enjoyed my experience with these two and highly recommend their care. Thank you 🙂”
