“This place genuinely saved my life. The first time I was there 2 years ago, it gave me the longest stretch of recovery I had ever had with my eating disorder! When I was there this time, Donita helped to give me the tools to become an independent adult. I love most of the staff there. My only complaint is that some of the staff did not always pay attention, so we were able to do things such as climb out of windows or whatever we wanted, and this staff member did not care. The new MA that we got right before I left was utterly useless, and she refused to assist with any of the chores, and spent most of her time on the phone. The therapist called Donita to discuss my refusal to read out loud in group the week before I left, and told her I wasn't participating and that nobody was. We argued back stating that we were participating, we just simply didn't want to read out loud. In short, most of the staff were great, with a couple not cut out for an RTC with adolescents. I wish there was someone I could talk to regarding the bad staff tho.”
“This place just gave me even more suicidal thoughts. They kept me in that horrid place for 4 months. there were multiple self-harm cases, fights, and sexual assault cases. Please shut this place down. Please...”
“Man tbh this place helped in ways but low-key it was straight up ruined. I went there twice I succeeded the first time (barely) it was Ruff the first time but I got threw. The 2nd time I was kicked out. The reason being "i don't care abt treatment" i did, the day I was kicked out i woke up and said I was gonna like "put in my all" but it didn't work. But whats the point of this. I was in crisis and one of the staff (you know who you are) took my mp3 player away which she knew was keeping me from crashing out. Then took me into her office called my mom and told her I "wasn't gonna participate in group thus it would be best for me to go to the hospital" ONE GROUP I didn't go to 1 group and then I was out. My main problem was this staff. Everyone else and I mean everyone else seemed like they cared. And she'll say she dose but I don't think telling a kid "i can call your mom so stop crying" is caring. I don't think kicking someone out of a place that was gonna help them for not going to the "teir meeting" is caring. Insulting your staff behind there backs saying "I'm gonna have to re staff cus obviously nobody is doing it right" is caring. You know who you are. To the staff that tried and cared kudos to you.i wanna say to the teacher while ik we had our disagreements you were always a person I looked up to so thank you. To MY therapist you helped me threw alot even tho you had to pry stuff outta me still thank you. To the chef "the G" you always made me feel heard and you were one of the first times I cried in front of a man so thank you for giving me food and a guy i could talk to. To all the ma's you guys really tried even when we were loud and didn't follow instructions. I found you guys to be very professional or just real. Also to the owners don't reply to this is really don't care because I am not coming back. -Michael young (former client of adolescent growth)”
“This review is for the Los Angeles CA facility in Korea town. If we could give zero stars.. We would. Unable to find contact information for owner or senior management to discuss MAJOR issues while our granddaughter was there. Some issues..No daily schedule, psychiatrist that only talks to patient on phone, understaffed, yoga is a video, physical activity is walking to CVS or Starbucks, Sunday is watching church on TV, no treatment transparency..etc.... Can Someone contact us!????”
