How likely are you to recommend Ability Plus Mental Health Clinic?
What patients say on Google
“I was charged a $65 no-show fee for missing a brief medication management appointment, despite it being my first missed visit and rescheduling the same day. I had confirmed the appointment in advance and did receive a reminder about 24 hours prior, but there was no follow-up or outreach the day of when I hadn’t joined. A quick message or short grace period likely would have prevented the situation entirely. My appointments are typically fully covered, so this was an unexpected out-of-pocket cost. While I understand that no-show policies are included in consent paperwork and I take responsibility for missing the appointment, the lack of flexibility stood out. For such a short visit, the fee feels disproportionate, especially in a mental health setting where things can come up. As someone who works in a helping profession, this felt discouraging. Policies like this can come across as prioritizing fees over patient access to care. While I’ve had a good experience otherwise, this has made me reconsider whether this is the right long-term fit, as unexpected charges like this are difficult to absorb…”
“High regards, as Dr. Baptiste has been wonderful towards me the last few years and has made a significant impact on my life with the treatment and support she's given me. The women who answer the phone are also very lovely and efficient at what they do!”
“I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Mackel Mitchell. From the very first appointment, I felt heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. She took the time to listen without judgment, explain things clearly, and create a treatment plan that feels thoughtful and tailored to my needs. Her calm presence and professionalism made it easy to be open and honest, which has made a meaningful difference in my mental health journey. I truly appreciate the compassion, consistency, and support they provide. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality psychiatric care.”
“I would highly encourage and recommend that you do NOT go here, but specifically for anyone seeking an ADHD evaluation. I was told I did not have ADHD, but later received a comprehensive, clinically valid assessment by a real, knowledgeable licensed psychiatrist and a team, including a 22 page report elsewhere that confirmed significant fluctuations between my cognitive processing speed and numerical processing + vocabulary strengths and clearly diagnosed me with SEVERE combined type ADHD after 8 hours of testing and interviews and waiting on a detailed analysis of my results for weeks after. This place prevented me from getting the treatment I really, really needed for the entirety of 4 months which strained my academics and personal life heavily. The evaluation I received at Ability Plus was extremely superficial, invalidating, and lacked the depth and standardized testing needed for an accurate psychiatric diagnosis. My symptoms since childhood were invalidated due to my comment about having superior grades regardless of my executive dysfunction and other aspects of my cognitive issues and tried to pinpoint anxiety as a root cause with a complete disregard of comorbidity and the nuance of an ADHD diagnosis. If you are looking for real answers or clinical support, I also STRONGLY recommend completely avoiding Mitchell for ADHD assessments and seeking a knowledgeable provider who performs full, evidence-based testing instead of a cheap online exam while invalidating your real experiences and struggles. Please do not waste your precious time and money here.”
