What patients say on Google
“Compassion connection has been a safe space for us to finally help my family grieve in a way that is incredibly helpful. My children (4), and (6) lost their dad last year after a difficult battle with brain cancer. This center is a place where they feel open and safe to CELEBRATE their dad’s life. It is not just a center for grieving families, but a place where every feeling is valid, real and the professionally trained staff and volunteers are warm and treat everyone that walks in the building with dignity and respect. I also love that we are able to have group meetings with people with the same common loss and are able to speak about our grief while also feeling comfortable and welcomed.”
“Compassion Connection is a pioneer in healing from grief. As you walk through the doors you become aware of what they have to offer. Supportive and knowledgeable staff, programs and groups tailored to situations, but more importantly a sense of calm that you didnt know could exist at such a difficult time. My grief from years back became a shadow that I didn't know was following me. It wasn't until I shared my story with others that I realized nobody is alone on this jouney navigating a different path you are given. Friendships were formed, insight was sought, and laughter returned. It gave me a sense of belonging when it mattered. My children participated in groups each dealing with grief on a different level. They might not say much but I can see a difference. I'm grateful for this organization and for having such a wonderful experience. I encourage others to reach out and become part of this growing community. ❤️”
“I lost my daughter less than 2 years ago and Compassion Connection has given me hope I never thought possible. My grief has been overwhelming and I often find myself in “fight or flight” or completely paralyzed. Compassion Connection has a warm atmosphere that is very calming to my overstimulated senses and the volunteers are extremely compassionate. I remember my first meeting last fall. I was very nervous and wasn’t sure what to expect. There was no pressure to speak, so at first I didn’t. By the end of the meeting it was so apparent that I wasn’t alone in all I was feeling and actually wanted to speak. We tell our stories, share our feelings and talk about things that might help. Each person has their own grieving process but we are connected by understanding each other’s pain. I now look forward to attending because it allows me to remove my everyday mask of appearing ok. I’m so thankful this place exists and so grateful to the facilitators who show up for us while grieving themselves.”
“This agency is the most amazing and supportive organization. My son has struggled with coping and moving forward when he lost his best friend to overdose. This facility has helped by giving him a place to feel at home and a better understanding of what the grieving process looks like. They have also given him the opportunity to complete his internship for his MSW program and have been nothing but professional.”
