“This place doesn’t make any effort to give you your own clothes whatsoever. I’m 6’4 and they couldn’t, or wouldn’t, find any clothes that fit me. However, there was this girl there who was relatively tall (for a girl) maybe 5’9 or so, but I’ll be buggered if she was more than maybe 90lbs soaking wet. Anyway, she had apparently the only extra large sweater and sweatpants in the entire building, and refused to give it up because she preferred baggy clothes. Ok, fine, you prefer it. Nothing wrong with that, but I literally DONT FIT in any of the clothes they have. It’s not a preference, it’s a necessity. The staff would regularly ignore requests for your own clothes and the only excuse they had was that they have to go through the hotbox to eliminate possible bedbugs. Ok, but it doesn’t take 9 days to go through a hotbox. If you don’t have enough staff to get done the absolute basics then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. No excuse. I wore the same clothes for over a week. I didn’t even have fitting clothes to change into to wash the ones I came in with.”

“The only reason I am giving a 2 star rating is because of SAM. He was the best staff by far. I went to Willow Creek 3 times over the course of 4 years. I was 12 the first time and they roomed me with a 15 year old because “they didn’t have space in the teen unit”. That went as well as you’d expect. I was still 12 the second time because they released me and then I literally came back not even 24 hours later. The third time I was 14 and that was when I got to meet Sam. He made my whole experience better. He was very understanding and was absolutely awesome with the way he did things. He would literally come to our doors to wake us up and sing our names. Some of the staff were plain rude and I really didn’t feel the care or respect from a lot of them in my visits there. I felt like they were trying to get me out faster than I needed! We had a family session and that went horribly because my therapist ignored me when I told her that I didn’t want my dad to know certain things. She told my dad and he got pissed off. DONT send your loved ones here. And I kind of hope Sam left this place because he can do so much better.”

“i went and got screamed at by erin she’s kinda bigger but anyway i got screamed at while i was having a panic attack and they told me to go to my room if i was gonna do that and i had to ride it out on my own and it lasted for at least an hour an a half they were behind the desk or whatever by the day room in unit 500 and i got accused of going there again just to meet up with somebody. I’m out there the first time all because there was a coincidence that we both came back around the same time and then we had a 10 foot and we wanted to be roommates because we both had an eating disorder and neither of us could have roommates and I find that very messed up.”

“I was truly terrified about going there at first but I emerged a different person.. to all the kind staff who are too many to name and I will not for privacy reasons anyway. I thank you so much you are what kept me going. ps... my lovely Packers Fan.. still gonna find you at a game sometime.. giggles.. got a hat now!!!! again.. to all of the staff ... thank you so much..”
