What patients say on Google

“Everyone I’ve interacted with at this practice has been so kind and pleasant. The receptionists on the phone and in person are extremely pleasant, very helpful, and very sweet. I’ve also had an incredible medical experience with Olivia Brown, PA. She is an attentive provider, a great listener, and super well-versed in a variety of medical paths forward. She was direct but caring, and I am so appreciative of her bedside manner. I had a less than ideal customer service experience at another Raleigh psych provider, and was thrilled to have had such a lovely experience at Wake Psychiatry.”

“This practice is AMAZING!!! From front of the house to back of the house, the staff is excellent. I was struggling to find a good match and I'm so so so happy I found Wake Psychiatry. Olivia is SUCH a fantastic provider (and human!). She listens, asks questions and has insights that I've never really gotten from previous providers of her ilk. And all of the intake/reception people are so nice and helpful. And how could I not mention Jacob (Jake?)! He was the one manning the front when I was struggling to find a provider and wow did he help me get sorted. I had literally walked out of another practice crying because the provider was NOT a good match and this guy calmed my nerves, made me smile, and got me all of the paperwork and an appointment to see Olivia the next morning. I could not be happier with the care I receive here.”

“It has been nearly seven months since my experience with Wake Psychiatry, and I am finally ready to share my review. In April 2025, the office administrator, Jacob, would not provide access to a scheduled Zoom appointment with my provider, Karen Lavieri, until I paid a $330 bill. This charge was for an appointment from the April 2024, a year before! This was my first notice of the $330 bill. I questioned the amount because my co-pays were consistently $20, but I ultimately paid the bill just so Jacob would allow me to meet with my provider— and I would address this bill mistake later.-a decision I now regret. This was not the first issue. I had been a client since May 2023. In December 2023, I was unexpectedly switched by Wake Psychiatry from my original provider to Ms.Karen Lavieri, and the office tried to bill me a $300 "new patient" fee. They only removed it after I explained that I was an existing patient. Regarding the $330 bill, a call to my insurance revealed the charge was because Karen Lavieri was out-of-network. When I told Jacob this, he insisted she was in-network and said he would contact my insurance to fix the mistake. Later, he claimed he couldn’t find documentation of her status because he had "just started the job," which was strange since I had met him at the office in May 2023. I explained to Jacob that I had not requested to be switched to a new provider. I was not informed at the time that Karen Lavieri was out of network and I did not consent to being changed to an out of network provider. And since the new provider Karen Lavieri was out-of-network I should be refunded the $330. Ultimately Jacob was unable or unwilling to resolve. I exhausted every resource trying to fix this and be refunded $330: I reached out to Karen Lavieri three times; she referred me to the front desk and then stopped returning my calls. I tried to reach the COO, Dell Tolin, but he was never available. I reached out to the Medical Director, Kellie Tolin, for help, but received similar intonations that she was unable to help and no refund resolution. I truly thought that if Kellie Tolin or Dell Tolin knew their administrative office was struggling and mis-billing clients, not providing in-network providers, they would want to make it right. Instead, I have been the one advocating for my right to be treated fairly while seeing that, 1. Wake Psychiatry administration office refuses to correct billing and insurance mistakes and refund me as their client. 2. Wake Psychiatry simply shuffled my concerns and their attitude is that they are unable to help and ultimately do not care about me as their client. I trusted Wake Psychiatry to treat me with respect and fairness and to provide an in-network provider and bill me correctly. This experience has left me completely untrusting of Wake Psychiatry. As of now, my only resolution is to provide this review so future clients are aware of their practices. I have found a different office and cannot recommend Wake Psychiatry.”

“Got referred here by my primary doctor for an ADHD testing and treatment, the psychiatrist I received, Olivia Brown, ignored the whole reason I was here and just kept trying to push anxiety only medications. Which do not help ADHD and she would not test for ADHD either, which again is the whole reason my doctor sent a referral in for. Asked multiple times about it and she wouldn't do it. She ignored my own health concerns that I had about myself.”
