What patients say on Google

“I have had many problems with this office (Greenwood). In regard to taking any kind of controlled substances: From calling multiple times to try to request medication refills and leaving messages that went unanswered until days later, to having almost no reminders sent regarding urine screening or f/u appts (although they insist they send text reminders or call every time one of those things are needed). Every time I need a new script I have to call the office, which means every 27-30 days, because they will not send in 3 months worth of meds at a time, which is ridiculous. You can’t request the meds early because they won’t send the script in if they’ve seen it’s prior to the fill date, however, you’d think they would know that even if they send it prior to the fill date, the pharmacy will not fill it early due to state and federal regulations. And I’ve had many other providers send scripts ahead of time because they are aware a pharmacy can’t fill a controlled substance early, but at least you know the script is there and ready when you need to pick it up. And if you request a refill close to the 30 day mark, you risk not having it filled on time because, “our entire system went down”, “so and so left early”, “the nurse had a family emergency and has been off for two days”, and the list goes on. NOT MY PROBLEM. Staff cannot manage the office, apparently. I have also requested a refill, gotten the text that staff has sent the refill request to the provider, called the office two hours later to find out why the script was not yet sent to the pharmacy (because by that point I usually get a notification that the refill was sent to the pharmacy), to only be told that, “so and so is out of the office until around 4 or 5pm, and won’t check his messages until then”. This means he won’t send in the refill til after that time at the earliest, and there have been a few times the refill was not sent til the next morning (I was also told a couple times that the refill couldn’t be sent because it was “too early” to send it, meaning a day or two before the med could be filled, technically). So instead of picking up the meds and having them when I need them, if I’m at work the next day and have no meds and the script wasn’t filled until the day I’m at work, I have to find a way to leave during work to pick up the meds which is not typically possible. Furthermore, I have been told that my refill requests were sent to the provider the same day after I requested them in person (hours before they closed), was told that the request would “definitely” be sent before closing time, and found out the next day that the request was not sent at all. These are people’s meds that they need to function normally with and their lives that they are dealing with, but it seems they are oblivious to that fact. I can overlook a couple bumps with an office but this is over the top. I have been on the same meds for over 20 years and seen several providers over that time and I’ve never had to call monthly for a new script and I saw those same docs over the video call as well. I pay full price for urine tests that insurance won’t cover on top of copays for video visits in order to get meds refilled and I will never use the “VirtualMD” offices again. Not worth the hassle and major stress they have caused me.”

“My review is based off three appointments. The first initial consult I took a med cab from Muncie to Greenwood. Which wouldn’t have bothered me had the appointment not been over a video call. They took me to a room with a big tv screen set up attached to a laptop and camera. The doctor, being Neil Jarawala, called in and lives in Georgia. He did an assessment and seemed thorough, but clinical and uncaring. By our second appointment he had me stop taking my antipsychotic. As someone with Bipolar 1 disorder is was very confusing and concerning. Not only that our second appointment lasted no more than 5 mins and he was late to it. I remember him asking how I was, me saying okay I guess, and him literally laughing saying “yeah but no mania or depression right?”. I expressed while no I wasn’t manic or depressed, I was having trouble sleeping. So sent in a script for Doxepin. I had still trouble sleeping between that appointment and what was to be our third. He put me on a low dose of Seroquel in between appointments. Then by the time our third appointment rolls around, which to me is very important as he just prescribed me a new antipsychotic and hadn't met with me in over a month, he didn’t show up to this appointment. Which we had scheduled for over a month. He didn’t give a cancellation notice. I called the office and they claimed to be out given the snow. Understandable, but nobody sent notice. Which if this doctor lives in Georgia anyways— how does the snowstorm affect his ability to send his client, at the very least an email, explaining his absence? Very unprofessional, clinical, and uncaring.”

“Never had any issues with Virtual Consult MD Psychiatry and when I have run into issues, Shelby and the other amazing helpful professionals make sure to efficiently and effectively resolve them! I tend to be forgetful of appointments sometimes and Shelby has always been so kind in reminding me and giving me a little grace when this happens. Couldn’t ask for a better place! I appreciate everything they do!”

“Do not recommend this place. This has a Community hospital sign in the front. I ask to use the bathroom and told me no. Even tho I come to this hospital. Rude and inconsiderate. If someone walks into a hospital/doctors office, you should not be told no use the bathroom. They didn't even ask if I was a patient. Despicable to the needs of the community. Especially when it's your company name on the door.”
