What patients say on Google

“Dr. Gomes is easy to work with, easy to understand, and connect with, patient, trusting and helpful. It is not a fast or rushed process and I will be honest there were times I did not want to come on I just was not in the mood or it was a rough day but she was patient, did not rush or force me to talk but she made sure I knew she was there and listened. She lets me go on rants and than creates a plan. I do virtual and she is very accommodating and I am starting to get back to things that I enjoy and although it is a rough, long and slow process with multiple steps forward and even multiple steps backwards but even when I am struggling she listens and it makes it easier to be honest and actually get the help needed even at different stages.”

“I had a NEGATIVE experience WITH THIS WOMAN; as did my child. We never felt heard by heard or respected. She never seemed to have any helpful advice or actually understand myself or just child and was only on the fathers side with her own agenda. Wouldn’t recommend her for anyone; let alone teenagers. Seems to react towards you like you are wrong unless you agree with her completely; which makes you hesitant to be fully honest with her. Writes off anxiety as defiant disorder or acting out, which is harmful and negligent. Seems to create division between parents and teens. She says the same thing each session and it’s never helpful so idk why she keeps trying; or how she actually has a job! Thankfully, we do not see her anymore. I can clearly see now how unhelpful Dr. Gomes was and in fact how harmful she was to my child. Seems to have no experience with teenagers, and only wants to make things up. Seems to passively threaten with cps and court when it is clear the issue is not coming from home the environment, or a mental illness. Comes off as judgmental, not empathetic, and uses things you’ve confided in her with against you. Definitely seems like she rushes the sessions and wants you to come back so she can get her money. I wouldn’t recommend going to her if you have a any problems; anxiety, depress And god help if you have a mental illness, for someone with a phd who studied psychology for years she seems to have no idea what or how to address anything. She tried to say my child had anger issues and was probably ready to say she had a mental illness. Again, not great for kids and adults, but definitely not 13-17 year olds. I’d never recommend her to anyone ever; even an enemy.”

““I honestly don’t even know where to start. Vanessa has truly changed my life. I came to her in a really hard place, and she helped me learn how to actually manage my emotions, work through trauma, and navigate family situations in a way I never knew how to before. What makes her so special is that she really listens. There’s never any judgment, just understanding, guidance, and support. And somehow she also brings humor and lightness into the hardest conversations, which made it so much easier to open up and do the work. I can genuinely say I’m a better, stronger, more grounded woman because of her. I will always be grateful for her and everything she’s helped me through. She didn’t just help me get through a season, she helped change my life.”

“I can not say enough about Dr. Gomes and how grateful I am for everything she has done for us! She helped my teenage foster daughter (at the time) become less angry, understand her feelings, open up and talk and gave me the tools and advice I needed to be the best mom to her. Without her I truly do not know where we would be today. My daughter and I have an amazing relationship and I give her most of the credit. She is an exceptional therapist and a compassionate and kind human. I would recommend her to anyone in need of healing, help and hope!”
