How likely are you to recommend Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital?
What patients say on Google
“This place is honestly atrocious. The staff here do not seem to want to help you, they act as if they’ve inconvenienced them. The women at the front will laugh behind your back if you ask where the doctor is. The social workers here dodge any accountability and will say that you are arguing with them if you dare to question them on anything. I was falsely put here due to intrusive thoughts while being on Zoloft. I had no harm to myself as these were just thoughts, but instead they just forced me to be here against my will. They do not care about you here and will only put you here to cover their own agenda. There are also bugs in the bathroom that crawl (as seen in pics). You would expect more from a Vanderbilt hospital in NASHVILLE. If you come here, you’ll most likely just be sitting in ur room the whole time and will not be able to talk to any staff who are nice to you. They are not friendly at all.”
“Don't believe the "estimate" the finance department gives for any services here. I agreed to $1800, now I'm looking at over $5000. Nothing extra. No unexpected billable services. Exactly the service I was admitted for. I understand it was just an estimate, but how am I responsible for more than double what I was told to expect? The PHP program is just group classes on "skills" and a group process session every day. If you have ever read a self help book, you already know all these skills. You'll be pushed through like a conveyor belt. The people are nice enough, but they are overloaded and can't/won't do anything except suggest you go inpatient if you find the program unhelpful.”
“I have autism spectrum disorder and on April 7th, I had a mental health crisis. I was put on certain medications here and I find them somewhat helpful. It is a work in progress and I do not know what the future is like, but I am okay as of now. Thank you for saving me from myself and I hope that therapy and further medication management makes it so that that one time is the only time that I am here. Thank you for starting the process of saving me from my own mind as it can get extremely dark and depressing at times. Have a good day and I hope that my hospitalization from April 7th-10th is the only time that it is necessary. Addition: The place you referred me to, Novus Behavioral Health, has a good psychiatrist that is willing to continue what you started and is doing a decent job in treating me for ADHD. All of that to say, I give a shout-out to the social work intern, Alex. You did a good job listening to my concerns and finding someone who could help me. I am hopeful for the future at the moment. I will still go on to continue my schooling. But, I am still a work in progress.”
“Shout out to Unit 1, Dr M, Nurse J, BHS MisterG, Mister Navy and my favorite Georgia fan, and everyone else who works on unit one, and really the other units as well since they interchange from time to time. Also like to give a big shout out to the janitorial staff for keeping the place so clean, it’s all love. I wouldn’t be headed in this direction if it wasn’t for them. And the kitchen staff deserves a big shout out as well, food is fire. I wish everyone the best and a happy new year. -JCO”
