What patients say on Google

“I am giving 2 stars because I really appreciated the last two providers I saw. They listened and were kind. The first provider I saw didn't seem to really take me seriously when I told her some symptoms I was having, so it's hit or miss when it comes to the providers. But the front desk staff do not seem to really know what they are doing. I called to set up a followup appointment, and the receptionist seemed confused about what provider I was seeing. She said she would gather some info and then call me back to schedule an appointment, and I didn't recieve a call for 2 weeks. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor because nothing was clearly explained to me regarding which provider I would be seeing, and again... I was told the supervisor would call me back, and she never did. I had to call back twice and basically demand for them to transfer me to someone. No one seems to really know what they are doing or how to do their job. If you have good insurance, there are better options than this clinic.”

“Everyone who works at the front desks, and over the phones, has been so rude. Not only that, it’s a different provider every single visit. We’ve seen like 4 different doctors and can’t seem to stick with just one. I don’t understand it. Building a relationship and seeing the same face every time, I feel is necessary in building a good rapport w/the patient. and for us to keep switching is just so unprofessional in my opinion. I have to sit there and explain my child to a different person every single time. Yeah y’all write notes, but it’s not the same. It feels like we’re starting over every visit. And it’s frustrating. I’m just gonna find a different provider.”

“I had a horrible dr at family psychiatry which made me want to not seek out help. I came here as my last resort and I met Dr cline. He is my favorite physician ever and truly cares about his patients.”
Emily Martinez
“This is addressing my experiences and addressing the person who gave one star: I have been going to one practitioner for many years. I have never had scheduling issues with them. If one knows of scheduling issue one needs to be upfront with both the practitioner and the ladies at the front desk. If the practitioner schedulers appointments "too far out" and one does not speak up then, it is not UTMB's fault. In the majority of the cases these doctors have many patients which cannot all fit on one day. Some of the doctors are faculty doctors so not only do they see patients but, they also teach. They must work around their teaching, traveling, prepping schedule to fit in the patients. If one is unhappy with the appointment times speak up. Although I have not had direct issues in this department I have in another department and I just went up the line with an email. My issue was addressed quickly. The doctors are their for their patients and they care. Don't bust them on a a online survey unless you made an earnest effort of requesting the times and frequencies you felt that you needed. If the doctor one choses cannot accommodate your schedule there are other doctors to chose from. Good luck.”
