“I just spoke with Dr. Barbara Fisher for a "free" initial consult. She started the conversation by telling me I had a high deductible before anything else. She then proceeded to use and "example" of charging my insurance company $4,000 for testing. Or, she offered to charge as an "example" $1,200 cash for the same testing. She explained this was a "service" that she didn't have to offer. She asked me, the patient, what sort of testing I wanted, even though her office has a referral from my doctor. When I attempted to clarify my frustration with the information that she would charge such radically different prices to me or to my insurance company, she said I was putting words in her mouth. She would not let me finish my sentences. She told me she would not continue the conversation and hung up on me.”
