What patients say on Google

“My mother was in this hospital on 2 separate occasions. In the first, she got lithium toxicity under their “care” and was sent to the main hospital. In the second, they significantly changed medication she’s been taking for over a decade which resulted in rapid cognitive decline. Thankfully, the cause was found and fixed by a more competent hospital. On neither occasion did I ever have any communication with her doctor who worked there despite asking and being granted permission over 4 times. UF Health Psychiatric Hospital is filled to the brim with dispassionate, negligent incompetents who would sooner see you die than treated. Prison is a better option, and I’m not exaggerating.”

“This is one of the best mental facilities you can get help from. They will not let you leave untill you feel better, they medicated me, gave lessons on boundaries, anger management, we read poems, did music therapy, worksheets and games aswell as plant therapy and animal therapy. (got to take a plant home) there were fidget toys and puzzles and i never felt unsafe in the facility because of their guidelines/rules. Group was a wonderful time for me, being able to go outside into the sunlight in the facility was great, i met amazing people with very crazy stories in there, and overall it was a much needed experience to repair my mental health. There are books and a TV to entertain yourself with and they give you journals to encourage you to write. The food was very good, and you are allowed to make phone calls. You will see a doctor every morning. And they also give you soap, a toothbrush, lotion, deodorant and toothpaste. eric needs a raise guys please give him a raise, hes running around everywhere. aswell as jessica, brandon, valaria and suzanne. They are all lovely kind nurses.”

“I admitted myself on 5-28-2026. I had been in a severe state of depression since mid December. MY psychiatrist had run out of options concerning medications to help and she felt that ECT treatment was my best option. I had been considered Treatment Resistant for years now. I explained all this from the start to EVERYONE who interviewed me believing that they would verify with MY psychiatrist and treat me with the ECT, but no. The psychiatrist, Dr. Moore, who barely spoke to me, didn’t look me in the eye when he did, and even walked away from me once, had looked back in my records and PREJUDGED me based on a previous inpatient stay ten years prior, but he ignored the truth and facts. I also noticed that he was very attentive to young college age females, but not wanting to be bothered with us “gray haired” males and females. Dr. Moore and his side-kick psych resident would only give me ONE medication option for the depression and sleep issues. Even after I had informed them that the same medication had failed to work 2-3 times before. When this med was increased to 200mg, it was an OVERDOSE for me. My RN knew it the evening it happened as did the PCP the next morning who told me to refuse it if they tried to give it to me again, which I did. My desire for help had turned into a nightmare plus I had to fight to stay in hospital by calling the UF Patient Advocate and the Medicare Patient Advocate multiple times because they were going to discharge me without treating me! It bought me a few more days but no treatment. Finally, Dr. Moore made it crystal clear that they/he/whoever just wanted me to leave, be gone. At that point, I knew that they were not going to treat me so I gave up the battle and discharged myself 13 days after admission. I am now on day 37 of only getting zero to less than three hours of sleep per night, except for four days scattered within the last 22 days. They also changed the form of my chronic pain medication for Fibromyalgia and it did NOT work. I was in tortuous pain after being discharged and had to endure it for five days until I could see my pain management specialist who put me back on the correct form of the medication that worked for me. Only by the grace of God did I not off myself during those five days. I was losing my mind from the pain. Dr. Moore and his incorrect prejudgment also diagnosed me with two different conditions both of which were completely wrong, and it has now created more problems for me to deal with. How could he diagnose ANYTHING when he barely even spoke to me let alone evaluate me??!!! I will be filing a complaint against him and the facility for so much mistreatment, no treatment, failure to respect their own patient rights criteria, abuse, incompetence and so much more. All that being said, there WERE RNs, social workers, psych techs, peer specialists and Dr. Raulerson, the PCP, who went above and beyond their duties to help me, advocate for me and do the same for other patients. God bless them all for their efforts, compassion, kindness and empathy. There were, unfortunately, also in those groups, individuals who were as bad as the psychiatrist who refused to treat my depression and sleeplessness, or even treat me as a human being. They all need to find a new line of work or examine their attitudes and behaviors and make changes. I was a medical professional for decades, so I am not ignorant about medical science and issues. That is why I tried to advocate for other patients as well as for myself. It’s shameful that any patient should even have to in order to receive proper medical care. SMDH…”

“Time IS constant. Time is no more complex than speed or distance, and gravity affects none of the three. All three are abstract. Gravity does not affect numbers or alphabets. (forget about "clocks" think "numbers"). Gravity does not affect math or words. All abstract. Ideas are not controlled by gravity. Time is an invention of human language, a set of repeating symbols(tic tic tic tic tic) used to communicate. It does not exist physically in the universe, so it is unaffected by gravity. Do you want the rest? Hello, Doctors! Remember me! Those papers I sent you are TRUE! I want them back! Please call me 911”
