“I believe it was my first time going to this hospital, no wait time. Everyone was very nice. I didn’t have to wait forever. I came in with abdominal pain, I have Crohn’s. They told me I have a bug, and I understand that the people in the ER aren’t necessarily the best with autoimmune diseases. I did not have a bug, I have Crohn’s disease. They took care of my pain and dehydration. The other pain was around my right rib and radiated to the my back. This pain was something different. They told me my they didn’t see anything on the CT scan that would cause that. I did a urine sample and if I accidentally contaminated it I wish they would’ve asked me to do another one. Guess they didn’t care to. They never told me anything about it, and they never did call me about sending it to a lab and checking to see if it grows anything. I started wondering if it’s my gallbladder or something. A week later, I believe, I started hurting sooo bad. I decided to give cookeville hospital a chance. They got me in pretty quickly and told me I have a pretty bad kidney infection that’s been cooking for a while. They gave me a shot of antibiotics and they sent me some home too. Told me I would be admitted if the symptoms didn’t subside. Thankfully they did pretty quickly. You know when something is wrong with your body, don’t give up. Find the right people who listen. Who do their job 100%.”
“I scheduled my father a new patient appointment a week ago because he was discharged from a nursing home. When we arrived to the appointment we were told it was canceled and that they “called, left voicemails, texted and emailed” that it was canceled. I have not a single missed call, voicemail, text message or email showing this. I can go back and only find the confirmation that the appointment was scheduled. Was told the doctor was leaving the practice and wasn’t expecting new patients. If that’s the case don’t allow people to schedule appointments online. That’s asinine. Was then told by someone at the front desk they went back to ask the physician if they would see him and was told no. Absolutely inexcusable and horrible experience. I work for trinity and would be absolutely embarrassed if I did this to a patient and their family. In my 10+ years of working in healthcare I have not once experienced this. Will call to talk to the manager tomorrow but according to other reviews she’s also argumentative and not helpful. I’d say stay as far away from this office as possible.”
“After surviving a wreck that killed everyone but me on September 30, 1983, I have had many health challenges throughout my life. Ever since I moved back to West Michigan from the Florida Keys in 2009, my primary care (and talk therapy) appts have been here at Sparta Health - and I wouldn't have it any other way! They have repeatedly gone out of their way to be caring, accommodating, and understanding - no matter what I need. Same day appointments are even available, however, you must call to get one ASAP when they open in the morning as they usually fill up quickly. This place is so far above other primary care offices that I've tried out, that I've kept coming here even after I had to move from Belmont (15 minute drive) to White Cloud (50 minute drive) - and I would drive even farther if I had to! Actually, I looked into changing GPs, and even tried one who was closer to me, after my favorite provider (Gary Detwiler, PA) moved to NM in early 2023, but I soon found that other GP offices don't hold a candle to SHC! Good luck to you in your search for good health! /ja”
“Absolutely terribly run clinic. Canceled an appointment for an 80 year old man with a heart condition who needs his medication WITHOUT NOTIFICATION and then the lady at the front desk lied direct to our face saying “we called multiple times” with 0 missed calls or voicemails. Absolutely negligent behavior. But don’t worry, they’ll let you schedule appointments online for doctors who aren’t taking new patients and who are leaving the practice. Most bizarre, ridiculous experience I’ve ever had at a doctors office.”
