“In December entered I in person visited the office in order to obtain my son's medical records due to him being in a current mental health crisis at a different location when I attempted to inquire about requesting my son's documents secretary that I wasn't even speaking to at the time loudly interrupted what I was saying to inform me that she would not release my son's documentation to me his legal guardian unless I paid her $150 up front. I am wonder that we battling with homelessness, in which she replied the fee was the same for everyone. But may be waived for other offices or government programs. My son's doctor has requested the release of his medical records over a month ago and the office has has failed to release those records prolonging my son's suffering and preventing my son from receiving appropriate treatment for his need. This behavior and this treatment that I have experienced by a business that's listed as woman owned is concerning, undoubtedly one of women who own this business have a child of their own, certainly this is not the way they would want to be treated in the event that their baby was in a mental crisis and in need of assistance so to treat another woman that way who is just trying to get help for her child is extremely unprofessional. Unacceptable and heartbreaking. Not certain how this is a mental health facility responsible for seeing pediatric patients, this facility needs to be shut down and investigated in-depth about their understanding of pediatric mental health patients and they need to be educated on the federal and state laws regarding fees and costs associated with a patient's clinical records as well as a patient's right to their clinical records. If the experience I had was with the same secretary that has been reporting multiple times, Ms. Beverly for these same types of behaviors and responses then it may be time to reconsider Beverly's place in the office because if it continues it's going to get this facility shut down and fined. Updated: You have not hurd from me because the doctor obtained enough medical records from a separate location for my son to provide him with the care he needed. The doctor confirmed the request they sent your office and my main focus is my son's medical care, not going back and forth with medical offices who are rude, dishonest, and disorganized. While your response addressed the failure to send the documents requested by the doctor. What it failed to address was the way I was treated when I entered the office that day in distress about my son that was in current crisis.”
“Touch of Healing is my second experience with therapy/counseling after a first, much poorer experience with a private therapist. I’m not sure I would ever consider going anyplace else but here for as long as I’m able. Having been a client for 2 years, I can vouch for this place as a warm, inclusive, and caring environment. Michelle at the front desk always kindly greets me by name (it’s simple things like this that make your experience so much better) and creates my appointments best she can to fit my schedule. My therapist, Sandra, is absolutely wonderful. I don’t dread coming to my appointments, and any of the anxiety I may have had at the start of my time here dissipated very quickly. While it is a Christian faith-based business, you can choose whether or not you would like to include religious talk/themes in your sessions. As an atheist, I do not feel at all pressured to feel a certain way and I am not given faith-based, religious counseling that would be irrelevant and unhelpful to me. The sessions are not rushed or just cut-off when time is up. There is flexibility. The progression of conversation feels natural while also allowing time for all relevant bases to be covered. Sandra always takes notes during our sessions and refers back to them, remembering things we have discussed in previous sessions. While this seems like common practice, my previous therapist before TOH would hardly remember what we had already discussed and I would have to recap for her. I feel as if I’m being treated as a real person with sessions set at my own pace, not just a dollar sign or just any old client. All of Touch of Healing’s staff seem friendly and ready to help. The office is always pleasantly decorated and clean. I feel like I have a real connection to this place, and it isn’t just somewhere I go every other week because I feel like I have to. I know this business has got to have helped so many people, and will continue to be a blessing to its community and beyond. To TOH Staff: Please never give up! You are doing amazing things for others. Thank you for your service!”
“I will admit I was a bit nervous to get mental health counseling for the first time. I did not know what to expect at all. I looked at other reviews and didn’t see anything that helped me, so Ill write up my experience. As soon as you walk into the Touch of Healing lobby, it is modern and well decorated with Christian music station playing over the loud speaker. The reception staff made me felt welcomed and comfortable. There are sofa style comfy chairs in the lobby that are all brand new. Then you wait there in the lobby until your therapist calls you back to your therapy room (much like a typical Dr. office). All of the hallways and therapy session rooms seem to have been recently remodeled so they look brand new and great. The one session room that I was in (with Sandra Rawlings) was the perfect size room with 1 couch and 1 sofa style chair for the therapist. The session itself was nice. She was extremely understanding and insightful. The session was just a bit short. The bathrooms were also nice; clean with new flooring. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of Touch of Healing and to be honest It was much nicer than I anticipated. I will certainly be returning and I will be recommending this place to those struggling with anexiety or depression who just need someone to talk to like I did.”
“I've been going here for quite some time it will be a year in July. Boy I've been through some life changing things that I know I couldn't of gotten through it on my own. Sandra my therapist is the best she listens and understands my different emotions that I may be feeling at that time. Some days it's good and some days it's bad but that's life but to have some I can rely on and helps through what I'm dealing with I'm grateful!”
