How likely are you to recommend Tidewater Total Mind Care?
What patients say on Google
“I am moving out of state and truly wish I could continue care with this clinic. I’ve been a patient here for about three years, and my experience has consistently been excellent. From my intake appointment to my most recent visit, the level of care has been consistently high. Dr. Stein takes the time to listen, remembers details from previous conversations, and approaches treatment in a thoughtful and personalized way. I’ve come leaps and bounds from where I started, and I’m very grateful for the professionalism and quality of care I’ve received. I also saw a therapist at this office and had a great experience—everyone I interacted with was supportive and professional. The staff is always responsive and quick to help with messages or any issues that come up. Appointments can run a few minutes behind at times, but it’s clear that the time and attention given to each patient is a priority. I would highly recommend this practice.”
“I made a new patient appointment with this health "care" facility. Several days later they let me know they were canceling the appointment because they can't treat someone taking the psych meds I take. They are a psychiatric practice. I take psychiatric medications. They are apparently only appropriate for basic health care and are not capable of treating anything more than someone with basic depression. They shouldn't be in existence if they can't treat and help anyone. They made me feel like garbage, unworthy of help, and left me without medications I was needing and will run out of. Tidewater Total Mind Care is a pathetic excuse for a mental health care facility and their providers and staff should be shut down and without jobs.”
“Jennifer is a very endearing and caring therapist. She was recommended by Dr. Stein and I'm glad he did. Her warmth makes it easier to open up and that is much appreciated. Thank you for your great care. I also really like Dr. Stein who has taken my meds very seriously by changing them to something that actually works. For the first time, b/c of him, I am actually functional. He has really allowed me to get a grasp on how life is supposed to be. Thank you for everything.”
“My experiences up until today have been wonderful. The front office staff has decided that I shouldn’t continue care with my provider based off an interaction they had with me while missing a dosage of my meds and me being super sick. I woke up throwing up and cancelled my appointment. They called to tell me it was $125 cancellation but over the phone it sounded like $25. I freaked out. Already distressed mentally and that is why I’m in treatment the front desk ladies were rude and condescending and then I tried calling back to clear the situation and keep my appointment virtually they tell me I’ve been dropped as a patient because of me calling repeatedly. As someone who strugggles with communication and boundaries and this type of behavior it is shocking and. Disappointing to now be left with absolutely no care while in such a fragile state of mind. I am disappointed, my therapist knows my schedule and the stressors I’m under and this is how this has been handled rather than keeping my virtual appointment where we’d be able to work through this. Me behaving this way is part of why I was in therapy. You call yourself mental health people but then this is how you handle the mentally ill. I am aware my behavior was not appropriate but I’m the mentally ill patient seeking help part of your job is to help me with this kind of behavior to be dropped for it is weird and to not have a conversation even. Plus this dispute was over a charge not my relationship with my therapist. The front desk people at this place need to be fired, this is nothing you deal with this type of situation. Now I am out of care without notice and abrupt discontinuation of care when I had an appointment scheduled and need my therapist. This office is horrendous at how they conduct themselves and it seems almost unethical just because the front desk lady didn’t like how I spoke when clearly in an active mental episode the very thing these people work to treat now because of the front desk lady interaction my treatment is affected. Terrible. Unethical. Up until this point every interaction had been pleasant now suddenly I have no care or treatment. I could have used that virtual appointment you took from me today thank you “Karen” at the front desk. You’ve been reported to the state. Update: still unable to find care or a new therapist. How sickening. Board report has been processed. I don’t know how these people sleep at night. You are the reason the world is so messed up. I bet all of the stories we’ve heard they tried getting help at places like this. Shame on your practice. I am building a lawsuit against this firm.”
