How likely are you to recommend Thriveworks Psychiatry & Counseling Sandy Springs?
“This was, by far, the most unprofessional and distressing mental health experience I have ever had. I left feeling dismissed, scared, and hopeless instead of supported. My first appointment was with nurse practitioner Constance Francis Agalaba, who prescribed a medication that interacted with one I was already taking. She knew my current medications, but the interaction was never discussed. Thankfully, my pharmacy caught it before I started the medication. When I called the office, I expected the prescription to simply be corrected. Instead, I was told I would need another appointment and another copay before anything could be changed. I then contacted customer service, and they were kind and apologetic. They arranged for me to see a different provider, which gave me hope. Unfortunately, the second appointment was even worse. Nurse practitioner Darshana Patel seemed irritated from the start and asked why I had switched providers. I explained the situation, and she responded, “It sounds like she wasn’t a good fit, and neither will I because I agree with her.” When I asked if she would really not correct a medication error without another visit and copay, she said, “Yes, because that’s the only way we get paid by insurance.” That response was heartbreaking. It made me feel like insurance mattered more than patient safety or mental health care. I was also confused by the inconsistent follow-up recommendations, especially compared with how my daughter’s psychiatrist handled her care. By the end, I was in tears and still had no refill or safe alternative. I felt abandoned at a time when I needed compassion most. I do want to recognize the customer service representative, who was genuinely kind and helpful. She scheduled me with an experienced psychiatrist, and I hope that appointment will be different. Mental health care should make patients feel safe, heard, and respected. Instead, this experience left me feeling dismissed and afraid to ask for help. I will update this review after my psychiatrist appointment, because I truly hope it restores my faith in this practice.”
“My sessions with Angela Murray is always good. It helps me to know where I am and recognizing that healing is not overnight it’s a step-by-step process. I appreciate her assistance in helping me to become a better version of who I need to be.”
“Working with Thriveworks has been an incredible experience. They provide a warm, non- judgmental space to open up. They empathize and guide well to navigate my hardest moments.
