What patients say on Google
“Finding affordable and flexible office space as a solo clinician can be difficult, but Therapy Collective has made the process easy. I can quickly view availability, choose the room that works best for me, and reserve the exact time I need. The atmosphere feels calm and home-like, which helps clients settle in comfortably. It has been a practical and dependable option for offering in-person sessions without the commitment of a traditional lease.”
“For a couple of reasons, I’d advise against seeking therapy through Thriveworks, or at least shopping around before settling there. This was my experience. While my therapist was good and competent, I was only able to meet with her three times. Two of those sessions were cancelled on her end because of family situations and the third was reschedule twice because of the same reason. The day before my last session with her, I received an email that her employment with Thirveworks had ended. Now I understand this this was a therapist issue, not necessarily the fault of Thriveworks. I do however feel they should do a better job of overseeing their therapists’ abilities to fulfill their scheduling commitments. My second issue with this clinic arose when I got my bill. It was shockingly higher than I’d been quoted. Onboarding costs had been quoted to me at $200 (before insurance), but when the bill arrived, it was $395. I’d also been quoted at $35/session (after insurance), but when I got my bill, they were @ $125.00. By my quoted math, I should have owed $105 total, but the bill was $238 + the final session that hadn’t gone through yet. I called and they explained that the quoted costs were those of Thriveworks, not the therapists additional costs, which I could not find anywhere on their website. I’d been led to believe one thing and charged another. Additionally, I was instructed to wait for my 3rd bill to go through insurance before they set me up on a payment plan and the receptionist/billing associate told me they’d wait until then so that I could sort it all out. I checked my bank account today and they’d gone ahead and charged me the full amount, going back on their word that they’d wait until the last bill had processed before helping me out. My, albeit not very friendly advice to them was “You’re supposed to be helping people out, not ripping them off.” I asked that the billing associate send word up the chain that I’d been misquoted and grossly overcharged, to which she said, “This isn’t a new problem for our clients.” Basically what got from them was, “Tough luck. You’re on your own.” So they’re aware it’s happening, but their not fixing it or giving potential clients advance warning of what their bills will look like. I did a quick google review search (which I should have done at the outset, but at the time I needed help immediately) and found this to be a common complaint of Thriveworks’ clients: shockingly high therapy bills and little help settling them. I’d strongly advise finding help elsewhere. I’m sure their other therapists are fine but their billing and business practices are garbage. I got the feeling they’re trying to make money, not actually trying to help people.”
“Being my first experience with Thriveworks it went very well. The lady I spoke with at intake was very personable and polite and compassionate. My first appt. with the therapist went very also, when asked why I was looking for therapy I think I started talking and didnt quit til my session was over, lol. The therapist seemed very understanding a great listener and gave me some avenues to try to deal with some issues I having. Look forward to my next session.”
“Came here for help, was canceled on my Amy B. Jones 3 times in a row at the last second for what would be our first session. First excuse was the system shouldn’t have allowed me to pick Wednesday cuz she takes those days off now. Second excuse came around an hour before the rescheduled Thursday at 10am time, said she had a schedule conflict with her child’s school even though she offered that time just the day before. We rescheduled for 3p same day - again per her proposed availability- then 30 mins before she said she had another schedule conflict with her child’s school and offered to reschedule again, the first available being Saturday. Of course through all of this I had to shift things around to clear up time to be available. Apparently she didn’t. This isn’t a hair appointment. This is mental health. Making the move to seek help is hard enough and this is a licensed professional with years of training and experience. Completely inexcusable.”
