What patients say on Google

“My children and I used Thriveworks virtual platform and it was beyond awful. In a time of true crisis for our family I felt like my time and money was robbed. The woman they scheduled my children with was disconnected, unprofessional and provided no support. When my children talked about their concerns or issues they were met with a severe lack of eye contact and responses such as "uh huh" and "you need to stop doing that" and "I dont want you to do that anymore". She was always eating during their sessions. The biggest kicker was when election results were announced and my child had an appointment that evening. The "therapist" was sitting in a dark room acting forlorn. My child was concerned and asked her if she was OK. Her response was "no, not really". My appointments were not any better. The first "therapist" they matched me with seemed promising. By the 3rd appointment my hopes dropped. She logged on and was laying in bed. She then ended the session early due to having cotton mouth. She then canceled my next 3 appointments the morning of. I was then linked with a new "therapist". We had 2 or 3 sessions before she abruptly canceled the morning of. She asked about rescheduling for the following week. I provided several dates and times and never heard from her again. It seems the people Thriveworks hire are all in training. They have no problem taking your money if you don't follow their cancelation schedule but allow their employees to cancel last minute, literally. I would ABSOLUTELY AVOID this group. This was an incredibly disheartening experience and made it difficult for my children to have trust in the new therapist I found with another company. Thankfully the new place was professional, knowledgeable and helpful and my kids were able to get the help the needed during a crisis.”

“We had our first marriage counseling session, and unfortunately, the therapist did not feel like the right fit for us as a couple. No offense to her personally, but the way she approached the session and gave advice did not make us feel understood or genuinely supported. It felt like she was unable to fully relate to the realities and dynamics of married life. In our opinion, her background and approach may be more suitable for trauma or PTSD-focused counseling rather than couples therapy. We were especially disappointed considering the session cost $220. During the session, she also mentioned that she was still completing her required hours while finishing her master’s program, which made the experience feel more like working with someone still in training rather than an experienced marriage counselor. We were hoping to be matched with a therapist who was more experienced and better suited to guide married couples through relationship challenges. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this service.”

“She’s awesome! We have only had one session but she easily understands what I’m trying to say and she listens well and gives good feedback. She asked the right questions and give me time to think through my thoughts out loud so I can give her a clear understanding of my situation. I hope I get to keep see her! ☺️”

“They want to charge patients $150 for canceling if it isn’t done 48 hours before the appointment. But I am assuming they think it is okay to waste my time canceling the morning of (2 hours before my appointment) via email while I am standing outside the building. Will not be using in the future .DO NOT RECOMMEND.”
