“My teenage son is autistic & was under Dr.Schiedemantel’s care about 1 year ago. He had severe agitation, aggression & was taken to ED by squad twice. Discharged to home. ED doctors & Dr.Schiedemantel and other doctors in that office missed my son’s diagnosis of excited state Catatonia despite me telling them his symptoms were a clear change from his baseline. My son continued to get worse until finally squad took him to Lutheran ED & he saw Dr.Nora Burns. Excited state Catatonia is treatable but many times doctors miss it. My son went through a horrible , scary ordeal which did not need to happen. If your autistic son or daughter is experiencing similar symptoms or a clear change from their baseline go see Dr.Nora Burns at Lutheran CCF. She is excellent and she was the one who helped my son.”
