How likely are you to recommend The WAVE of Clearwater?
“I've been here twice and both times were honestly amazing in their own ways. The sta? treat you like family. The techs are always around to check on you or just talk if you need someone. The therapists really care and give you tools that actually work. I loved the outings, the art room and the fact that we could still have some normal things like our phones. It doesn't feel like a hospital, it feels more like a community that pushes you to get better. If you're thinking about coming here, do it. It's not perfect but it's real and it helps.”
“My therapist recommended this place to me when I was ready to be baker acted. I was nervous after seeing some of the most recent reviews but I decided to still go. I’ve been here for a week now and I love it here!! I feel cared for by the nurses and techs, they're so friendly. (by cared for I mean that they actually care about me and aren’t /just/ doing their jobs) Also my therapist and psych here are so sweet and great. But it’s good to remember that the staff here are people just like you are and it won’t be 100% perfect. I like the food but I’m not a picky eater. Other clients here are hit-or-miss on the meals. But they accommodate for celiac which warms my heart because many places don’t. I’ve personally seen that they also accommodate for diabetes, vegetarian, and vegan. I love the “classes” because I learn ways to grow/heal. I also love using the art room and the gym and sauna. The other girls here are so friendly and I’m happy I got here at a time that I got to meet them! I’m sure you will get along with whoever is here for your stay too! I love that I can use my phone and my laptop so it’s not like a prison. You can order yourself food on doordash or items too! It’s almost like living in a dorm. Definitely bring ear plugs and an eye mask. Also the plushies and throw blanket are mine they don’t come with the room. And this is out of their control but currently the construction next to the facility is kinda annoying. Another thing is that we go on outings to Walmart or target or five below. Also scenic nature places like tarpon springs. I’ve decided to write this so other girls can find this place and see a more recent review that is positive because I’m so glad I came here. It’s okay to accept help. (also everyone gets one of those jeans bag on my desk in the photo for free so that's awesome)”
“My partner enrolled in a program at the Wave attended approximately 36 hours of the program and left and the wave is withholding a $10,000 refund. Ashlee Bryant will not return calls or emails and this facility is anything but what it seems.”
“I did residential treatment at The Wave and then stepped down to PHP and IOP. My experience in residential was incredible. From daily groups to outings to lifelong friendships, The Wave truly had it all. Not every day was good there but every day I could find purpose in being there. I also loved the emotional support dogs some of the therapists had/residents. Some of the outings we went on included a dolphin boat ride and to the aquarium. The support from the entire staff really helped to create a supportive atmosphere. The techs were simply incredible and always were up to talk about anything— from life problems to your pets! They were always available to us and would drop anything for us if we needed them. The therapists were also always available if you needed a quick check in outside of your scheduled appointment and Raveen would always ensure everyone was alright, even offering her time to us as well. The night nurses were simply incredible too and I have so many fond memories of standing at the nurses station chatting away. They also provide check ins post discharge to ensure you’re still doing okay. Finally, the admissions team works really hard to make your insurance cover the stay and also works hard to create a payment plan for whatever insurance won’t cover, which took off so much stress from me. The other important aspect of The Wave was the lifelong friendships I created during my stay. Even months after discharge, I still talk to so many of the fellow residents there and we constantly check in and share updates, which is what is really special to me. Overall, I am so grateful for the time I spent at The Wave. I have never felt so stable in my life and I thank a lot of that to them. They were there when I was drowning and they were there when I was celebrating. The info I learned from the daily groups and the relationships I had with the staff I will not soon forget. If you’re considering going to The Wave, I simply hope you do it. It was the best decision I ever made in my recovery to heal.”
