What patients say on Google
“Five-Year Update Over five years have passed since I graduated from Harbor of Grace. When I first walked through those doors, I didn’t think the life I’m living today was possible. Today, I wake up with peace instead of fear. The post-traumatic stress injury that once dictated every part of my life has been fully healed. It’s no longer something I have to “manage” or simply survive. Through the work done at Harbor of Grace, God’s grace, and the journey that followed, I was given my life back. Since graduating, I’ve found something even greater than recovery—I found a relationship with Jesus Christ. I’ve remarried to an incredible woman. I’ve been entrusted with greater leadership responsibilities in my career. I’ve had the privilege of helping countless first responders who are now walking through battles that once nearly took my own life. The perspective I have today is something I never imagined possible. There is a steadiness, a peace, and an unshakable foundation that is difficult to put into words unless you’ve lived through both the darkness and the healing. To Kat, Eileen, Kelly, Kirby, Mitch, Chuck, Ken, and every member of the Harbor of Grace family… Thank you. There simply are not words worthy enough to express the love, gratitude, and respect I have for each of you. You didn’t just teach skills or provide treatment. You loved people when they couldn’t love themselves. You spoke hope into people who couldn’t see tomorrow. You created a place where broken first responders could begin believing that healing wasn’t just possible—it was waiting for them. The ripple effects of what you do extend far beyond your walls. Every family restored, every life reclaimed, every leader rebuilt, every child who gets their parent back…that is part of your legacy. I know that’s true because I’m one of those lives. The man writing this today bears very little resemblance to the man who first arrived at Harbor of Grace. Everything that once tried to destroy me has become part of God’s testimony in my life and is now used to help others find hope. If you’re reading this and wondering whether Harbor of Grace can help you… I’m living proof that it can. Thank you for giving me my life back. May God continue to bless every one of you and every person who walks through your doors.”
“Having the opportunity to attend Harbor of Grace was life changing for me. Aside from marrying my wife and having my children it was the single best decision I’ve made. The staff truly cares about the person and wants what is best for them. My therapist was incredible and helped me to work through the trauma that I had difficulty dealing with. If you are struggling with alcoholism, drugs or mental health issues, Harbor of Grace can and will help you through your difficult times. Rich HOG graduate February 2026”
“I arrived at the HOG in April 2024. I was broken, desperate, and hopeless. No end in sight. Upon arrival I was welcomed with open arms by the staff. Letting me know there is hope and we can recover. My counselor was absolutely the best. Opening my eyes to the issues at hand and why I turned to alcohol. I was offered the chance to go to the HOG two years before I actually went. Best decision I have ever made. The HOG saved my life, and opened my eyes to a life without alcohol. I will be celebrating 2 years sobriety in a few weeks. Could not possibly be any happier. Life is good. Thank you to the HOG, all the medical staff, all the counselors, administrators, and the whole staff of individuals that keep the place running. So many great people that (Big Al, Bobby, Kelly to name a few) that there is no way to thank them all. If you need help this is the place to go!!!”
“My time at Harbor of Grace allowed me to finally address my trauma and acknowledge that I needed help with my mental health. The 28 day program allowed me to focus on my needs and different methodologies to successfully cope with my feelings. While this is not a resort, it is a facility where you will be treated with respect and great care while you focus on your why and how to get better. I feel like the negative views of some are due to the rules in place (for a reason) and the lack of creature comforts and luxuries that are not necessary while breaking down the layers while attending this facility. People's stories are impactful and the bonds you forge help you remember you're not alone. If you are honestly ready to get better and address your mental health or a substance abuse disorder, you will find the help you need to make the necessary changes to get there. The tools I have received from this facility are with me forever as are the people who continue to check in on me and help me along the way. The sense of community is strong but Harbor of Grace will only help you if you are truly ready to help yourself.”
