“The Healing Project is an incredible team of social workers completely dedicated to laying the foundation for healing. Mike is a legendary leader in sexual harm education and care in Lenawee county, and his mentee Tori - an incomparable crisis intervention specialist and therapist - has built this therapy center to honor all that he has done for our community. She heads the teen and adult therapy groups for sexual harm survivors, and has built a safe and inclusive environment for survivors to share their stories and begin healing. Sydney is pioneering Lenawee County's first sensory room for neurodivergent children, and she is an incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic care worker for children who require personalized care. Johann is a fantastic coach and consoler dedicated to making mental health accessible to men who otherwise might overlook their pain. As a client, I have never found a community so thoughtful, caring, and accepting as these folks, and as a transgender man I never thought I would find a comfortable place to talk about my troubles or a community that I belonged in. I have found both of these essentials at The Healing Project, and I encourage anyone interested to reach out for themselves!”
