What patients say on Google
“Formal Complaint Regarding Substandard Facility Conditions, Neglect, and Staff Misconduct I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the atrocious conditions, severe lack of basic comfort, and unacceptable staff behavior at Ben Taub Hospital. My experience at your facility was utterly unacceptable, and I would never recommend this hospital to a loved one, or even my worst enemy. Several critical issues need to be addressed immediately: Rude and Abusive Staff: The conduct of the staff at your facility is deeply concerning. I experienced staff members who were consistently rude, dismissive, and outright abusive. Instead of receiving compassionate care, patients are treated with hostility and disrespect. Severe Neglect: There is a blatant lack of attentive patient care. Requests for assistance are ignored, and the overall attitude of the staff is completely neglectful to basic patient needs. Appalling Odor and Sanitation: The facility severely smells like urine. It is completely unacceptable for a medical environment to lack basic cleanliness. The environmental services team needs to utilize proper, heavy-duty cleaning agents like Odoban, Pine-Sol, Fabuloso, or hydrogen peroxide/shaving cream techniques to neutralize these odors and properly sanitize the space. Deplorable Accommodations: There are no proper beds available, forcing patients to rely entirely on uncomfortable sofa recliners. Furthermore, the hospital itself is freezing cold, making it impossible to rest or recover properly. Substandard Food and Refreshments: The food provided is horrible and served cold. Additionally, the quality of the snacks and sandwiches provided to patients is incredibly poor. Inadequate Shower Facilities: The showers are poorly designed and highly frustrating to use. Having to continuously press a button just to keep a stream of water going to take a basic shower is ridiculous for a healthcare facility. The administration at Ben Taub needs to do significantly better. The environment is inhospitable, and the behavior of your personnel is a liability to patient well-being. I left your facility with absolutely no desire to ever return. I expect this feedback to be taken seriously and directed immediately to Patient Relations, Nursing Administration, and Facilities Management for review.”
“I received excellent care from Dr Kimberly Parks! I started to see her more than a year ago and I've gotten way better since then. She is way smart and knows her medicine. I actually do believe that with her knowledge of medicine she can find a treatment to whatever it is that you struggle with.”
“This place was awful. It admitted me when I didn’t need to be and forced me to be away from my family. Awful center.”
“I checked myself in because I was a nervous wreck & had a bad sleeping disorder & was dealing with depression, anxiety and stress. Well learned my lesson to never go back. The nurse ot should I say rude lady that took me upstairs had a nasty attitude when we got to the psych ward department I was asked to sit down & I informed them that I couldn’t sit down the rude lady that took me up there then said in a firm aggressive voice you need to do as your being told. The nurse that asked me to sit down ignored her and had me sign myself in then shared her opinion about what the rude nurse had said. Now idk how I managed be w/o my phone, eat the food they gave us & deal with all the cray crays that were in there. We took our meds & played uno everyday and all throughout the day. It was our pass time & all we had to do other than sit on the couch with no blanket to watch tv. There was this one chick there that would ask me to play uno yet she played it different and had a funky attitude & would snap at me when she felt like it. The only person that was sweet up there was the Asian nurse. We had to shampoo and wash our body with some cheap shampoo from the hospital with cold water & had to clean up all the water off the floor so no one would fall. Then you have to share a room with 3 other ppl that funky attitudes. It was hell!! If your willing to deal with all the cons then feel free to go there otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it!!”
