What patients say on Google

“Harlee Abromson is the absolute best therapist I have ever had. And I’ve had a few. Working with her for the past two years has helped me to change my life and develop more confidence in myself and my abilities. She has helped me come to terms with past experiences and learn to move beyond them to grow into a stronger and more equipped person. Working with her has changed my life for the better. The Center for Counseling Arts, more broadly, is a very warm, comforting and calming space. The lighting in the waiting room and the classical music on the radio immediately set me at ease and the friendliness and compassion expressed by all the people I’ve encountered there has always left me feeling welcomed and at ease. I cannot reccomend this practice more highly and indeed I have passed their contact information on to many of my friends and aquantiances.”

“Because of Marissa and the Center for Counseling Arts, I found happiness and fulfillment again in my life after years of struggling with anxiety and recently adjusting to becoming a new mom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I filled out an intake form in August of 2017 after experiencing a lack of joy and energy after becoming a new mom to my one-year-old son, and then returning to my full-time job. I had struggled with anxiety all my life with my main issue being that I am a perfectionist and a bit of a workaholic. I didn't even realize that I had been slowly filling up every moment of my life with home responsibilities, work, and parenting while not leaving room to take care of myself and my relationships. I even treated time with my son as "work" and didn't let myself enjoy the parenting experience. As a result, I had lost interest in hobbies, friends, and showed other signs of depression. Marissa very quickly helped me see that I was not only experiencing my usual anxiety, but for the first time in my life - I was depressed. I visited her once a week from August through January. Over these few months, she helped me figure out life goals, what I felt was important, and what my limitations where. It came down to realizing that I have limited resources (time and energy). And if I am not completing my goals, it is not because I am lazy or not good at something - it is because my expectations and resources available where not realistic. She also helped me to see that I am my best resource, and if I am not taking care of myself - everything else in my life suffers. I now prioritize self-care, and I ask for help from my family, partner, and friends. My life is much more balanced and I am happier than I've been for many, many years. I still see Marissa every other week to help me keep on track, work on any issues that may arise, and maintain a focus on self-care.”
