Surest path

“I would have given this place 4-5 stars up until yesterday. The clients end up running the place and staff does not intervene as necessary. The drama and chaos perpetuated by other clients wound up driving me to a breaking point. It was so disruptive that leaving was the only foreseeable resolution. The only good thing I can say is that most of the staff there does genuinely care about you getting better. They are there because they genuinely want to help you. However there needs to be better management of the drama and interpersonal issues. It could be a great place but that ruins it. PS DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF WHAT YOU BRING INTO THIS FACILITY GOES MISSING!!!!! Multiple people including myself lost a # of items during intake.”

“Money grab. Damn near a cult at this point. Underqualified employees posing as "therapists." If you miss a day at the sober living facility (their sister company FUSE) you're forced to pay 25 dollars to Richard. Richard is the Housing Director which in his case is a fancy title that translates to slumlord. Sewage falling from the ceiling everytime people upstairs flush where I stayed, and other houses had similar issues, some didn't even have heating or cooling. No smoke detectors, sinks don't work, sewage busted underneath the house, roaches, bedbugs on occasion and rats everywhere. Remember that 25 bucks he makes everytime someone misses a class? Yeah none of that goes towards fixing these issues but instead goes into his pocket. In class/group you do not have a voice, express a feeling that doesn't align with FUSE and you will have the microphone snatched from your hand, literally snatched from your hand. Relapsing gets you further than following rules and doing good, relapse and you're praised, run your program the way you see fit and stay clean and you get ridiculed. Worst place to go for IOP/ Sober Living but the appeal is that they allow couples to room together.. if the facility didn't allow couples to room together I firmly believe this place would quickly evaporate and not exist because of the horrible quality of the IOP classes, the "Therapy", and the living environment. 0/10 don't waste your time here I assure you there are better options everywhere else.”

“Surest Path Recovery Center & Great Lakes Recovery Center is the best place in the whole state! All of the staff went through the program themselves so they have a deeper understanding of what us recovering addicts are going through and they are super supportive and helpful! This place has gave me the tools and opportunity to save my life and start fresh and for that I’m extremely grateful. Dr. G and his staff are doing something that is truly inspiring and helpful to a lot of people. The clients and staff have made me feel like I belong both at Surest Path and at Great Lakes. I am extremely grateful to have got this chance to experience this. I highly recommend anyone who wants to get clean to look into Surest Path and Great Lakes. I’ve changed so much, I’ve finally found myself and who I am, and I’ve learned and continue to learn the skills I need to stay on the path of recovery. I can’t express how grateful and inspired I am because of this experience. 100 out of 10 for sure. They go above and beyond and they don’t care about money they truly care about each and every client and their success in sobriety and in life. I thank God he led me here as my life is forever changed for the better!”

“By far the best treatment center I have been too. This program will change your life and how you think. It focuses on the thought processes related to SUD and better ways to process day to day life. This place is a hidden gem that will give you a life, not worth throwing away. I can't speak enough about the staff and education received through the path. There is a lot of roads to recovery, this is the path I choose to follow.”
