How likely are you to recommend Summit Behavioral Healthcare?
What patients say on Google
“It can be hell if you don't have family that looks after you. I got better here, because I was able to rest, eat regularly and socialize with other high functioning people on unit I. I also got better, because my family looked after me and how the medication affected me, ensuring I got what I needed, and prayer(God is good all the time). Verbal abuse is way too common there. I was physically assaulted in 2017 by a tpo named Devin. The group instructors are cool though. I also had a group leader named Dennis who tried to scare me and frequently suggested we didn't take our meds. I was there from February 2017 to October 2017.”
“My daughter was there, first time was 2 years, second time was 3 months. Summit did an outstanding job. First they are willing to give the patient involuntary medication. not many places will do this even if that is what is needed. My daughter was protected and fed and offered many learning opportunities. My daughter is very non-compliant with her meds, so I am looking again at Summit for help.”
“Summit Behavioral Health Cincinnati (the facility in Price Hill specifically) is frequently used to house "problem" county inmates with behavioral or mental health issues from the Hamilton County Justice Center that "can't be meaningfully helped through the Justice Center's medical or psych depts" (per a jail social services worker at the time of conversation who requested anonymity) and both the jail and Hamilton County courts frequently also use the facility for mental competency evaluations for court proceedings. However, it's unclear if inmates are directly housed with other patients or housed separately & I've been repeatedly stonewalled and ignored when questioning all levels of staff on the matter. I know this info bc a friend was sent to Summit AS A JUSTICE CENTER INMATE and also through my own personal experiences with our county jail and court systems as well as through other friends and family who haveived ones that were sent there AS COUNTY INMATES. I can't stress that enough as I feel there is a serious lack of transparency on this matter and intentional secrecy, possibly for the safety of both those inmates AND other inpatients, but the public absolutely has a right to know who their friends and loved ones are potentially being housed with and I hope that this information helps you in choosing the best & safest possible facility for yourself, your friend or your loved one. Other than this, my above mentioned friend had nothing but nice things to say about the staff, inpatients & her short stay there other than she felt that they were served very low cost, low quality & nutritionally poor meals and those meals had meager portions & wasn't certain if she was housed solely with other inmates or with other inpatients. Hope this info helps. Be well & blessed and most importantly, harm none.”
“I am not going to trash talk this agency because I'm hoping my experience isn't representation of the whole unit but I will say that my experience has not been a good one in trying to contact people on the phone, particularly my son's social worker. Called four times for over a month no response until I called the supervisor. And then when she called me back, she was rude. It's stressful and scary when you have a love one with mental illness. The last thing you need is to treated with a lack of compassion and concern. Makes me wonder how my son is being treated. I have received more help from the security guard. They do answer their phone. . They were kind compassionate and provided comforting information. Which is all I needed.”
