“For a Behavior Health Center, I say this place is extremely nice. Getting your own room is a major plus! I didn't have any problems with the Nurses or the MITs. You give respect, you get respect. I felt completely safe while I was there. And the food is beyond good! I ate better while I was there than I do at home. So a HUGE shout out to all the kitchen staff!! 🙌 Thank you to the Nurses and MITs for taking the time to get coffee or something for me to drink anytime I would like it. Thank you for your patience and understanding!! 😊👏🏻 Thank you for taking the time to talk with me when I needed to talk! I can't say enough good things about my experience. One more important thing...I thank you for understanding that being a Type 1 Diabetic for 30+ years, me being able to check my sugar whenever I want or wearing my CGM is a security for me. Since I went unconscious a handful of times, anxiety and PTSD steps in if I'm not wearing my CGM. I wish Type 1 Diabetics that wear a CGM and have the company's monitor and don't use their cell phone could continue to wear it on the floor. If they are not a danger then they can continue to wear their CGM as long as they have the company's reader. To the 3rd floor, thank you!!! 🫶”
“edit: I just received a copy of my records from this place and they are inaccurate, they leave extremely important info out, and they falsified information about my medications and previous medical history. I will be contacting them for corrections. This is unbelievable! avoid this place at all costs! the group therapy / sessions were good. I requested one-on-one therapy but I guess they didn't have time for me or something idk? I didn't get one-on-one time with a therapist. the staff was friendly but kept trying to give me meds I didn't need for issues I didn't have. the rooms can be accessed by other patients. I think for safety they should add security swipe or something so other patients can't possibly go in your room. I didn't personally have a problem with this, but I can see it being a cause for concern for some, and it seemed weird that a psych unit would leave the patient rooms accessible like that. my room was so dirty that I got sick. my med records say I was paranoid about the state of my room, but it was verifiable that it was full of what looked like giant tumbleweeds of dry mop full of hair, dust, and dirt. the attached photo is what was all over every corner of my room. I noticed them after only being there 2 nights, so I know it didn't get that dirty just from me, esp. since the hair all stuck in the tumbleweeds was not mine. I'm attaching a photo of ONE of the tumbleweeds of crap I got from just one corner of the room. These things were all over every corner of my room. Yes I brought it home so I could show y'all what I was breathing in. This stuff was ALL OVER my floor. The environmental services lady cleaned it up for me pretty quickly when I requested it, but it shouldn't have been like that in the first place. I asked for zyrtec because I was having an allergy attack, but they kept trying to give me an anti-anxiety med (they said it was also an antihistamine like Benadryl) instead of a Zyrtec. I didn't want to fall asleep like Benadryl does to me (I wanted to go to group sessions, not sleep all day), and I don't have anxiety, so I kept asking for Zyrtec instead. It took 3 days for a nurse to actually give me a Zyrtec, and my allergies cleared up pretty well then. I don't think I would've gotten so sick if that had given me the allergy pill I asked for when I first started feeling an allergy attack coming on instead of making me wait 3 days while they offered something I didn't want. The chairs in the common area are gross and worn down. I honestly didn't even want to sit in them after I saw them. The doctor and nurses kept trying to give me meds that treat things I don't have and have never had. They have some kind of mismacth / miscommunication with charts from other places, because they claimed things about my medical history that weren't true (said I've been institutionalized 3 times, when actually I was voluntarily checked in 14 years ago one time and that's it), and they kept trying to give me a medication that I already tried a couple months ago and had no success with, and they acted surprised when I told them I already tried it. my med record from here lies and says I was prescribed something else at the previous place. I needed special toothpaste due to an allergy, and they wouldn't give it to me when I asked for it, except after the snack at the end of the night. I don't understand why they wouldn't let me use it when I was asking for it. the nurse said it's so I don't have to brush my teeth more than once a day. what?? I don't want to brush my teeth only one time each day! They claimed I had "racing thoughts" about a situation, but I literally never thought about the situation except for the 5+ times a day they kept asking me about it. Staying here was overall pretty frustrating. I don't know what the alternative is like, but I don't know if I would recommend this place. I'm sure everyone has a different experience with it but personally I would not like to go back. I went to St Thomas back in the day and it was better even though I had to share a room with someone else.”
“My mom came in for counseling- and divulged that my 10 year old daughter was staying home alone while I work. Which is completely legal. This woman told my mom (who is an RN mind you) that she would need to report that to children services. Talk about triggering and unprofessional. I am grateful my mom chose not to tell me the counselors name because I would be inclined to report her to a higher authority. Wildly inappropriate- HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!”
“This is a Prison!!! Do not send anyone you love here!! They strip you of your humanity! Treat you like a zoo animal! There is No therapy here at all! Its a Joke! Some nurses are great but Karlee needs a new line of work! Thank Donald you were very caring and kind! Most of the techs were great!”
