“While the providers at Strong Foundation Behavioral Health Clinic (especially Dr. McFarland) are exceptional, the billing department is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Their incompetence and unprofessional behavior have completely overshadowed the quality of care I received. They charged a card that should never have been on file. The charge was several hundred dollars for a visit from the previous year, a visit they failed to submit to insurance on time. Their mistake became my bill, and instead of owning it, the billing staff has been shockingly dismissive. One member of the billing department actually hung up on me, walked away from me mid-conversation, and has been consistently difficult to work with every step of the way. The level of disrespect and lack of accountability is unbelievable for a healthcare office. It’s a shame that such great providers are paired with a billing team this careless, rude, and unprofessional. Until the billing department is completely restructured, I strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to proceed with caution.”
“i absolutely love this clinic. while i’ve had bad experiences with other providers, i decided to give this place a chance and i am so grateful i did. dr. mcfarland is such an amazing medication provider that listens to every concern i have and has the patience of a saint! & summer scott is an absolute god send as a therapist and has helped me work through things i never thought i’d even tell anyone. very grateful for this place and the professionals that work here.”
“I like Dr McFarland... the receptionists are awful and don't care about patients AT ALL..... They won't schedule appointments following the telehealth call.... I message them with NO REPLY.... I'm writing this January 30th 2025 and I've been waiting on an appointment or to even hear back since the beginning of September 2024.... My mental health medications are a medical necessity and I've had to be without them for months....... and literally nobody at this office even cares Their only goal at this point is to make people's mental health suffer and I don't think you could ever convince me otherwise at this point....... *Added after their reply to my review 11months later* Was never contacted by at all about any change in accepting my insurance until their response just now to my review (Jan 17, 2026). Not by phone, not by email, and not by text. (I even double checked my phone records, they didn't try contacting me until after my review). And they wouldn't even schedule my appointment when I was still on the video call from my last appointment. So did they stop accepting my insurance mid appointment? You cant make that make sense... and I can't cancel other appointments that didn't exist, when yal wouldn't even contact me back to schedule my next appointment during my last telehealth appointment.. again, I'm talking on check out yal wouldn't let me schedule an appointment.... Also, not even replying to the review until almost a year later reinforces my point that they don't reply in a reasonable amount of time. And trying to throw the patient under the bus a year later instead of you guys holding yourselves accountable for poor communication isn't a good look either. Which is why I dropped my review down to 1 star. --I still stand by Dr McFarland being wonderful though”
“The therapist laughed in my face while he joked about and made fun of traumatic information I shared with him at my intake session. (Will). We had been meeting for about 3-4 sessions. I left a voicemail to the office letting them know I wanted to report an issue with my session. The next day the owner called me and was nonchalant about my experience. She dismissed me by saying she would talk to him and get back to me. A week or so went by and I heard nothing from either one of them. I left him a message about how I felt in the patient portal and never got a reply. I called her back after not getting a response in over a week and she informed me that she asked him about the situation and he couldn’t even remember who I was.( this was only about 2 weeks after the incident and we met virtually at least 3 times). She also told me to schedule another appointment with them but not until he apologized and I told her I hadn’t heard from him. She said she’d let him know we spoke but she couldn’t make him apologize, she was just suggesting that if he ever does, I should accept it and then book another session. It’s been a few months and I never heard from them again. Very weird experience and wouldn’t recommend this place. I also don’t want an apology, I just want them to be better for the next person. If I was someone who was potentially less mentally strong, the experience of a therapist randomly deciding to make jokes about my trauma could of had a devastating ending.”
