How likely are you to recommend Strong Behavioral Health (Psychiatry)?
“Avoid this inpatient facility, unless you want your mental condition to dramatically get worse. I have been misdiagnosed, given wrong medication, been wrongfully discharged and even experienced complete neglect when I sustained a visibly serious injury that was accidental. Unfortunately, it's too late for any legal action to be taken, as Dr. Bussy and Dr. Mustafa failed to properly treat my failing mental state at that time, and henceforth discharging me just to be hospitalized again 2 weeks later. After the second inpatient stay at Strong in 2023, they once again failed to stabilize me. After a 2nd failed attempt at recovery, I was then sent to St. Mary's for treatment, and thank God I was, as they did an exceptional job at treating me and my condition properly. It's infuriating to see Strong continue to mistreat patients and shamelessly get away with it for YEARS. Hopefully they are placed under investigation sooner rather than later.”
“I have been a patient at the Flaum Eye Institute for 15 years, Eastman Dental, Neurology Dept., Gastoenenterogy Dept. Behavioral Health outpatient, and CPaP. All provide excellent care and the staff is compassionate and professional. However I was a patient in-house Psych Dept. twice. Both were nightmares. I was there for medication adjustments. The doctors gave me the wrong meds. One left out 3 BP meds which I take daily. I caught the mistake after a week and they had to keep me another week to lower my BP. They operate as Teams in order to intimidate the patient. I had no say in my treatment, nothing in writing. I was shocked that URMC, judging from the excellent care I received in the past, could continue to employ these doctors. They cover up their mistakes, lied to me, were negligent and arrogant. I spoke at length with the nurses in both departments. They are terrific. They love their work but they are very frustrated because what happened to me happens in these 2 departments on a regular basis. They can't complain. The culture there is that it is unprofessional to criticize doctors even if they endanger a patient's life. But they encouraged me to file a complaint with Patient Relations. I spent over an hour with their rep. Said she would get back gto me in 72 hours. She lied, never got back to me and covered up the whole scandal. I was naive to think they would help. They will never admit to malpractice. My message to these deceitful doctors is - the cover up will always get you sooner or later. Remember there are other hospitals in town. I am sure RGH will be your best choice. Thank you to all those who took the time to read my post and others who took the time to inform and warn the public about the negligence and malpractice they witnessed. I mentioned before that the culture at Strong is that is unprofessional to criticize a doctor. Actually, when nurses see negligence or malpractice they are obligated to report it. But, they won't because they fear retaliation. This poisonous culture is unethical and probably illegal. I also need to add that my insurance company told me to file a complaint with a department which works within CMS (U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services). They investigate complaints for medicare recipients. They contacted the hospital and basically read my complaint and as expected, they denied any wrongdoing. It was my word against theirs and they are located in Virginia so they really do a real investigation. I didn't mention in my last post that my PCP ignored my request to see a neurologist for my chest spasm. But, I knew the neurologist and he took me without a referral. He prescribed a muscle relaxer which radically improved my digestion. It also improved my mobility. The reason he ignored me was that the chest spasm was caused by a seizure I had when I was tapering off Remeron, which in turn, caused the chest spasm. These are all withdrawal symptoms associated with going off of antidepressants which I have been taking long term. At one my of my visits he tried to con me into thinking that I did tapered off on my own so he was not to blame. In fact, he lied to this government agency by telling them that eventually he did give a referral to the neurologist. I obtained my past referral history. He did NOT make the referral. He claimed that I self tapered when actually he told me to start tapering down by 30%. I took his "advice" and was a nervous wreck the next day. So, I went online and found that the proper method is to reduce by 10-15% per month. This PCP was clueless regarding the nature of antidepressants. I found out that the information I got online did not distinguish between short term users and long term users of antidepressants. Medical professionals who don't benefit financially from these medications, have told me that they were designed to be taken for 1-2 years but doctors continue to prescribe them for several years or decades and at some point they permanently change brain chemistry and it can't be reversed.”
“This place is genuinely useless. My mother has been sent here god knows how many times for her pretty severe mental issues that keep getting worse by the year. Just sent here again for doing damage to our house and then showing concerning behaviors in public within two days and they released her way too soon, like always, and she is now back and immediately showing signs of being unwell. Useless place. Useless staff.”
“Never get on their radar. There is NO mobility towards success for an academic once ensnared. Due to the sheer number of people in their system, I am not even sure they have proper protocol from doctoring of reports or abuse of doctoring of reports. They also consistently employ coersive tactics to bring people in the office without communication or negotiation as a possibly normal protocol, when for a person of a particular asexuality, they experience, recognize, and are forced to tolerate a level of coersion on a regular basis. There is also no way for a computer scientist with systems education and training trapped in their system to report flaws in a way that sees response.”
