What patients say on Google

“I’ve gotten to know several members of the team at Still Mind, and I can say without hesitation they’re among the best in the recovery space in Florida. What stands out to me is how genuinely they care — this isn’t a numbers business for them, it’s people’s lives, and they treat it that way. The level of experience and professionalism on this staff is rare. If you or someone you love is looking for a detox program with people who will actually be in your corner, this is a team I trust and recommend.”

“I came to this facility for detox after it was recommended by the PHP program I was attending. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The environment felt overcrowded, with people at many different levels of treatment placed together in a confined space. Living arrangements consisted of sharing a room with several other patients, which often made it difficult to rest due to noise and other issues. Upon admission, my phone was taken away. Communication with family and friends was extremely limited. Patients were only allowed to call their designated emergency contact for 10 minutes on speakerphone, and these calls were not available every day. This made it difficult to maintain contact with loved ones while in treatment. Many aspects of a patient’s stay seemed to require therapist approval, including requests and privileges. This created an environment where I felt uncomfortable raising concerns because I worried it could affect decisions about my treatment or access to certain privileges. I was also concerned about medication management. While I personally was not taking medication, many patients frequently complained about delays, confusion, or other issues related to receiving their prescribed medications. The facility maintained very strict rules regarding patient interaction, including prohibiting physical contact. In my experience, some staff members, particularly certain technicians, communicated with patients in an unprofessional manner. I also felt that patients who became upset or acted out were quickly threatened with hospitalization or police involvement. Patients’ belongings were heavily restricted, and the overall atmosphere felt more punitive than therapeutic. The food was below average, and smoking and vaping appeared to be very common. Free cigarettes were available, which I found concerning in a treatment setting. I submitted a grievance regarding therapist Catherine and technician Jackie because of my concerns about their conduct. While there were a few staff members who were kind, supportive, and genuinely helpful, they were the exception rather than the rule. Overall, my experience was extremely negative, and I would not recommend this facility based on my stay. Rating: 1/10”

“Still Mind Recovery Center is truly an exceptional organization. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel how much the staff genuinely care about every individual who comes in. The entire team is compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping people heal and grow. What really stands out is the culture they’ve created supportive, welcoming, and built on integrity. It’s clear that they prioritize quality care and treat every client with respect and dignity. Their reputation in the community is well deserved, and it’s easy to see why so many people trust them during some of the most important moments of their lives. If you or a loved one are looking for a recovery center with an incredible staff and a team that truly goes above and beyond, I highly recommend Still Mind Recovery Center.”

“Still Mind saved my mind and more importantly, my daughter’s. This was the first place, out of countless, that recognized the codependency and how much it was effecting my daughter and I, and actually did something impactful. Because of that, my daughter was given the opportunity to thrive by advocating for herself and not running to me for rescue. This had a profound effect on my daughter’s confidence and self worth, which is invaluable. First, a big thank you goes to Brett Imboden, who only knew my daughter for a brief period of time at a different program. He had an uncanny sense of the type of support she needed and ultimately was the one who recommended Still Mind to her. You rock Brett! All the staff I met were supportive and kind human beings. A shout out to Wally, the Behavioral Health Tech, who stopped what he was doing to connect with me and helped me feel understood and not so alone. Catherine was my daughter’s therapist and she was the best out of all the ones my daughter has ever had—hands down. What was also so nice about Catherine was that she was a mother with children around the same age as my daughter, so she was truly able to empathize and always knew the right words to say. She had a positive disposition that gave me hope. Thank you, Catherine. A special thank you goes to Mike LaSapio, the Executive Director, who is deeply passionate about the wellbeing of his clients and made me feel more like family than just a mom of one of his many clients. Mike instilled so much hope for my daughter’s future. This has been such a rollercoaster ride and there were moments when hope slipped through my fingertips. My biggest thank you goes to Jamie Jaeger, who took my daughter under her wing, when she didn’t have to. Jamie’s heart is so big and made all the difference in the world in my daughter’s journey towards recovery. Her and my daughter developed a deep bond that still continues on, although my daughter has stepped down to a lower level of care at a different facility. Jamie has been a godsend to me as well. We’ve developed a friendship out of mutual respect, support, and understanding. I couldn’t feel more gratitude in my heart. This is the first time, in nearly two years, that I feel like I can finally breathe.”
