How likely are you to recommend St. Mary Behavioral Health Center?
“Don’t waste your time. I said the word “depressed” and got PEC’d. Never went back, I now receive EMDR therapy and visit actual therapists!! Haven’t been PEC’d ever since either. They get paid to put you in the hospital so that is all that they will do for you. The counselors literally don’t know what to tell you. They pill you and lock you up in the hospital for being depressed but not being a threat to a single soul. Just needed a safe place for understanding. Found that elsewhere! Thankful they screwed up, I wouldn’t have found the right type of therapy if they hadn’t.”
“It has been a really long experience but overall my child is doing 100% better than she was doing when she first started. We went through this company that sent 3 counselors to our house. One for me and one for Alex, one for me, and one for both of us together. It really opened my eyes to really see my children and stop screaming all the time. I am a better mother and he is a better daughter. Thank you St Mary Behavioral and all others places that have helped us to change for the better.”
“I’ve gone off and on for a few years now. The first counselor I saw interrupted me in the middle of me talking about being assaulted to correct me on my verbiage (even though I wasn’t wrong). The last appointment I had with a counselor was September 2023. I was in one of the worst depressive episodes I’ve had and she decided that would be a good day to go through my chart on her computer, asking me questions like “during your intake you said this, do you still agree?” Then after 45 min she said “well, I think that’s about all for today. We’ll go ahead and wrap up early.” and stood up to open the door. I tried to broach the subject of what was going on since I still had 15 minutes left and was honestly praying for help in that moment. She said “well, sometimes we have to figure things out for ourselves.” And stood there holding the door open while I sat on her couch wanting to die. I didn’t go back. I won’t go back. None of the counselors or psychiatrists here listen. I had to go to another facility to get a much-needed assessment that they don’t offer and then they didn’t “believe” the assessment I received. I’ve witnessed the secretaries behind the counter gossiping about patients. The nurse on the PCP side is one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and seek private therapy if you can find/afford it because this place might just make you worse.”
“Pros- The behavior counselor was very understanding and did not try to over talk me.She was such a blessing and would get a 5/5 Cons- The psychiatrist over the video chat was a different story for my first time seeing him. He should have known the important value of gaining the patient’s trust first. When I tried to open up on what was causing my situation, he made me feel like I was talking to a brick wall by telling me so bluntly he already know this information because it’s in my patients summary . When he would ask me a question, I would feel as if I didn’t want to say something wrong or he would tell me “ You’re not answering the question, you keep running around it”......Ummm Sir , I’m here for help , not to run around anything. Since I’m a person that doesn’t care for conflict, I kept my composure like a young lady should.”
