What patients say on Google
“I went here after my local ER failed me and kept sending me home with alcohol poisoning / withdrawals. I can’t speak for everyone or every program, but I felt very cared for. I told them I needed a hot shower because I couldn’t regulate my body temp and the nurse had someone come and clean the shower for me. I had to sit on the FLOOR, of essentially a public shower I was so sick. But it still felt clean. The shower head was odd and too powerful, but again, available and CLEAN! I was properly cared for, and if you EVER need help, they’re in your room quickly. Medications are taken seriously and used appropriately and given regularly. I was woken up to take my meds, which is probably the only reason I woke up without pain or nausea. I spent very little time here, but it was very pleasant and the staff very caring. I haven’t even had a hangover post care at this facility, but if I ever struggled again, I’d admit myself here willingly. Staff makes the entire program worth it, and they’re (in my experience as of mid 2025) excellent :)”
“Been clean for years now but I can’t express how much this place was pivotal to my recovery. Although there’s a long wait, their 3 day detox saved me in my darkest moments.”
“The hospital part is excellent. The detox unit is a nightmare. Many patients are court ordered by nys to attend detox to lesson prison time. They have long criminal charges and prior time incarcerated. They have zero interest in recovering from anything using addiction to manipulate the NYS court of their criminality. Detox has higher rewards that prison. Criminals know this. Attending a detox can lesson their prison sentences. That why they agree to " detox". No prison cells either. Criminals who are avoiding prison admit to substance abuse because a detox is better than prison. The staff and patients are completely unsafe and untrained working here, due to their lack of criminality education , not medical skills.Assaults on staff and patients are high without any including legal consequences. The security staff reports nothing . Security staff is NOT law enforcement. I saw 6 assault in one week. Not to mention the ones I didn't. They have zero authority. I commend the staff who work on this unit , yet they are in serious danger daily. So are are patients not court mandated seeking true recovery. This is the truth. I was NYS law enforcement for NYS 35 yrs . I was an undercover agent in this detox for a week. If you are interested in detox, recovery, I commend you. Do not go to this detox program Your life will be in jeopardy. Go to a fantastic facility that will give you excellent help. You deserve to get well and start your life over, no matter what you have been through. You can have a fantastic future.”
