How likely are you to recommend South Shore Psychological Care?
What patients say on Google
“I’ve been seeing my therapist at this practice for a little over a year now, and I’m really grateful that I found them. From the start, the experience has been nothing but positive. I’ve always felt welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely cared about. My therapist has helped me through some really difficult periods in my life, and throughout it all I’ve consistently felt seen, heard, and understood. The office itself has a very warm and calming atmosphere, which made opening up in therapy feel much easier for me.I have never felt rushed during my sessions. I also really appreciate how organized and responsive the practice is. I’ve never had to wait around for appointments, and anytime I’ve reached out with questions or needed support, someone has always gotten back to me quickly and done their best to help. You can tell that the people here truly care about their clients and the work they do. The care, compassion, and professionalism I’ve experienced here have made a meaningful difference in my life, and I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone looking for thoughtful and supportive mental health care.”
“I was referred to this practice by a care coordinator to seek therapy for my child. The scheduling process immediately raised concerns. I received a call at 9:00 p.m. on a Tuesday, and after only a brief description of my child’s situation—without ever meeting or evaluating her—the caller confidently stated that my child’s medication was the cause of her issues. That felt like an inappropriate conclusion to make before any assessment. I was then offered a tentative appointment for Thursday, pending confirmation from another patient. I was asked to send additional information, which I did the following morning. In that same message, I explained that Thursday would not work and asked if we could schedule for the following week. I was told that would be fine. The next day, however, I received a text stating that because I had “cancelled” the initial appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice, the practice’s policy made us ineligible to reschedule. This was both confusing and unfair. The original appointment had never been confirmed, the appointment offered was itself less than 48 hours away, and the cancellation policy had never been communicated to me. For a practice that describes itself as compassionate, this experience fell far short of that standard. Families seeking mental health care deserve empathy, clear communication, and fair treatment, especially during what is often an already stressful time. Thankfully, there are many other therapists in the area who provide both professional care and genuinely compassionate customer service.”
“Keep in mind they will refuse to see your child as a patient if you accidentally miss your first appt. Not sure if it’s common practice. We forgot to mark our calendar and were busy with a project and I just forgot. I spoke to the therapist right away and explained. They said we will have to go elsewhere as per their policy. I understand it was my mistake, and I could see a no show fee, but to push away a Child who needs psychiatric care for one mistake seems harsh to me…”
“Have been using service for over 2 years now. My therapist is Doreen and she has been incredible. We connected and she has been so helpful. My life has changed for the best in ways I could not have imagined. Recently stopped therapy because it was time, Doreen enlightened me with tools to assist me in my continued growth. If you are in therapy be open minded and try meditation and breathe work.”
