How likely are you to recommend Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital?
What patients say on Google
“My intentions were to leave a good review of this place upon my release on 06/05/26 but unfortunately I was put in two very difficult positions by the staff here which atleast borderline negligence. First I want to say I greatly appreciate the techs that work in the Empower women’s unit. Specifically Dee Dee and Lisa. They are exceptional at what they do. I also greatly appreciate majority of the counseling staff that runs group sessions with the exception of a WRAP group counselor who started an argument in front of patients with one of the techs. I believe her name is Jenny. Now, my issue with this hospital is that upon my release I realized that both my social worker and my doctor did not do their due diligence to make sure that I received a continuance of care upon my release. One, my social worker, Faith, did not set me up with a therapist or psychiatrist covered by insurance. I would have had to pay out of pocket to receive the care I was setup with by her therefore I left without a counseling resource which is why I came in the first place. I made it very clear that I had a hard time keeping up with care and needed help making arrangements that were affordable. Lastly, My Dr., Dr. Caycee, put in an e prescription with my pharmacy that for whatever reason did not reach the pharmacy. The pharmacy said no worries reach out to the provider and have them call back to confirm the prescription. It took me FOUR DAYS AND A CALL to a supervisor for someone to finally get ahold of Dr. Caycee (or anyone at that point because my meds were on file) to put in the prescription for me. So I spent four days in antidepressant withdrawal. (EDIT: Im diagnosed with MDD) I’m lucky to have had my family around to help me to navigate. Without them I’m not sure I could. I do not recommend inpatient care AT ALL and I’m hesitant about going to outpatient now. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE FOR INPATIENT. ID RECOMMEND ADVOCATE SOUTH SUBURBAN HAZEL CREST Edit: the doctor was able to fill 2/4 of the prescriptions originally prescribed upon my release. I tried calling to follow up on why two of the medications were not refilled and was hung up on. I will be following up with a lawyer.”
“I was here for the teen program due to having very bad depression at the time, overall my time here was okay I suppose. most of the staff was nice, especially Mattie, she was probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life, I loved talking to her. Robby and Isabelle were also very nice too. I got to draw and color still, but I wasn’t getting any of my school work sent to me, which made me super behind in class, and when I got discharged the nurses almost forgot to give me my shoes and other clothes I had in a second bag. Overall, I’d rate this place a 2.5/5.”
“I cant even give place a star. It was straight dumpster fire. No one in that place cared. All they did was fill out there little question check box give you drugs and send you on your way. It is a straight money grab. If you have good insurance they will keep you as long as possible. I went in and was told to sign a 5 day to get out sooner. THEY LIED i was there fore 11 days. Half the patients I was in will get there after me and left before me. I was lied to several times about getting talked to so I can leave early. It never happened. Then I was told I signed the wrong 5 day so I got stuck with an extra day because they messed up. There is not a single real "psychiatrist" in the place only nurses hat are not worth it. The social workers as just as bad. No one cares about you. It is all $$$$$. If I had the time I would sue this place but they will get away with anything by hiding behind bad policy. They had some guy for "Patient Rights" he was just as bad and did nothing beside say you can change your nurse and social worker. How does that help with they are bad. It is a JAIL do not ever go there. This place should get shut down.”
“Doctors and staff insisted on me being bipolar when I left I didn’t receive a diagnosis in my paperwork. No one said anything to me about any diagnosis changing. One of the other girls in there had unhappiness as a diagnosis which is whatever I don’t know that stuff but I’ve never seen that before. Staff needs to be kinder. They need to give clients markers that work. I don’t care if people use them improperly I’ve been in other hospitals with writing on the walls and they still give markers. You don’t deserve Liz the therapist she’s amazing. AMAZING. I hope you guys take a kind step forward from now on after I stayed in your hospital 4/1/26 - 4/10/26. I was not admitted by 3 other medical offices and then you guys told my family you knew how to handle me. Have a great weekend and I hope it’s filled with deep reflection and change. Your hospital is clean and the food is decent and you can watch tv.”
