“If you are a black women or of different culture/ skin color from white listen ! As a black women I am disappointed in the care Erin Shaw provided to me while seeing her. The midwife practitioner Erin Shaw knowing I was pregnant intentionally pushed very hard on my pelvis leaving me with cramps. I made a complaint saying I did not want to see her again. Concerned if she was trying to make me higher risk or give my baby some sort of medical problem. They still had me see her and she also did it a second time this time wiping the lube left to right with unnecessary force. This resulted in more cramping and stress. I thought it was weird because the ultrasound tech usually just hands you the paper towel. To wipe yourself. She Pushed very hard side to side and leaving me with cramps yet again. I am 14 weeks pregnant on this second occurrence.”

“I switched to Shawnee at 16 weeks pregnant when HWHC dropped coverage at Carbondale. Since then I have had nothing but amazing care during pregnancy and postpartum! You will not go wrong with any of the excellent providers!”

“The staff at the OB office are super friendly. From the front desk to the nurse and providers. I feel like I’ve seen every provider there and they all pay attention to any concerns you have and take their time listening to you. Big shout out to Megan Walker and Dr. Glassburn!! They went above and beyond with my last pregnancy! Had some complications during delivery and after delivery and they were there to make sure I was doing better even on their days off.”

“They failed to inform me until the day of my first appointment that they didn’t take my insurance. I was referred from the hospital because they allegedly took my insurance which clearly wasn’t true. They told me since I was a college student on a low income they could put me on a payment plan and I only had to pay $6 out of pocket. Never once did they mention an additional charge that I cannot afford at this time. They also tried texting AND calling to set up an appointment when I literally just had one not even 3 months ago. And I told them I had an office back home and would not be coming back at my appointment. I only came in to follow up after an emergency and honestly there was zero point.”
