What patients say on Google
“My specific provider Michelle Kinder is wonderful, however I have not had success at the walk-in next door. In the past I’ve had somewhat of a good visit, they are very kind there and I’ve never waited long, but I do go early when they open. But my most recent visit was not helpful at all. I came in for a diagnosis for what I assumed was some kind of bug going around and they sent me home with Flonase after describing my symptoms. The next day I came back to get some type of pain relief as none of my OTC meds were helping. My pain in my throat went from a 5 to a 9 overnight with no other symptoms but throat pain. I was swabbed for strep and tested negative and sent home to be told to take ibuprofen and tylenol for an upper respiratory infection diagnosis once again, (I was told viral infections have to be waited out which I understood) regardless of me saying they did not help the pain at all. I felt a bit rushed, the Dr who saw me both days was very nice but at the same time I felt like I wasn’t given enough time to explain my problem since it was extremely painful to speak. I tried to speak up a few times but in the end made to feel silly for coming back. I stayed in constant 9/10 pain for three more days thinking it was a viral infection, the pain became unbearable to the point where I went to the ER and was immediately treated for strep. (which I had never had before so I was unsure of what it felt like) My fever and pain subsided within the hour and overnight I was 10x better. I am self employed and lost a lot of business being out for an entire week, I am just frustrated because I felt like I wasn’t heard at all or given any alternatives for my pain at this walk-in, I’m sure if I would’ve been treated for strep the second time I went explaining my symptoms, I would have been over this much quicker. I don’t normally make reviews for anything but I’ve been on quite the rollercoaster physically, mentally and financially over this, so I will not be going back.”
“My daughter who is a student at EIU came into the clinic on 1/24. The receptionist was so rude to her my daughter left in tears. My daughter has a digital rather than physical BCBS card. The receptionist lied and said they couldn’t take it then said something crazy like you wouldn’t try to use a digital card for car insurance (ummm…yeah we do). Then she kept saying there was an hour wait and when she asked if my daughter could pee in a cup and my daughter said she thought do, the receptionist said well why would you come in if you can pee. At this point my daughter was in so much pain, upset, and embarrassed that she left. She had a UTI that needs antibiotics. I am livid. This hospital depends on the college and students. This woman has no business dealing with the public!!”
“Dissatisfied every time I come here. I gave them multiple chances to see if they've improved but they truly do not know what they're doing unfortunately. It is a shame that this is the only available walk-in in Charleston, and I will definitely be making the trip to Mattoon next time I need to get care because Carle has never been this bad. First off, the blood pressure sleeve slid down my arm, my blood pressure got taken right where the cuff hit where my elbow begins (I got an inaccurate reading). I came in because I am sick, they did NOT check for the flu which is what I suspect I might have. It really does not matter if it's not "flu season" or not, checking for the flu should be routine in my opinion, especially since the symptom's I listed were heavily alining with flu symptoms. Another thing they did not check was up my nose, they checked my throat and ears, but not up my nose. Prescribed me antibiotics after they said "I think it started out as viral", you think? Are we sure it's bacterial now? (I am afraid of antibiotic resistance and you should be too, it is a real thing and I do not need anymore issues.) Asked me if I was allergic to latex while ungloving, after having been touching me with gloves the whole time. These people always look at you weirdly and judgmentally, I'm so sorry for feeling unwell and expecting to come in and get treated like a human, and not a strange looking zoo animal. Going back to antibiotics, (I know it says on discharge papers, but not everyone will read those, and some people cannot read!!!) they did not verbally say to finish the full course of antibiotics, which is VERY important to tell people who may not know. And lastly, didn't wear mask, if I accidentally coughed in your face I'm sure you would be pretty upset with the outcome. It is difficult to hold in coughs when you're sick, you have only yourself to blame if you get sick from checking out an ill patient who coughs in your face, and if you get contagious germs on yourself from not wearing a mask, you have the potential to spread these germs to other patients. How hard is it to ask you guys to DO BETTER, What will it take? I am done coming here until they improve their practices and start doing things professionally.”
“Front desk is always nice and respectful and ready to help, the rest of the experience is a complete and utter nightmare. I have never been disrespected like I was today. I walked out. And for clarification I was helping my fiance get her hand checked out I was talking to the doctor and helping the doctor get all the information she needed since I was right there at the incident my fiance doesn't like to speak too very many people never have but the doctor very rudely and hatefully spoke to me in a manner I have never been spoken to I walked out never go to this facility they treat you like a dog diagnosis is always wrong they seriously need to look into employees of this facility be warned you will be treated unprofessionally take it from my experience”
